Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to closely define the core concept of electronic entrepreneurship
and all of its' features with regards to the latest entrepreneurial trends in the world's digital
economy. The main objective is to dissect all vital segments of the system in detail and show
how each and every business strategy used by modern virtual entrepreneurs can be utilized in
order to obtain profit and also at the same time provide security to all the parties involved.
This paper will provide clear insights into advantages and disadvantages of the e-commerce
model, along with the frequently used payment methods and it will also describe the

mechanisms of the most effective business models used by today's entrepreneurs within the e-
commerce sector. Furthermore, contemporary entrepreneurial strategies and trends will be

depicted with real-world examples of the popular companies and entrepreneurs which have
made an impact in the industry and have set the standards for newcomers.
Finally, the research which has been conducted on a sample of 108 people from Croatia will
show whether the following hypotheses are held to be true:
1) Consumers' perception of e-commerce has positively changed over the past few years.
2) Broad array of products and services is of great importance to people and the main trigger
for buying things online.
3) People tend to buy products or services online mostly when they encounter an
advertisement while browsing on the internet.
4) Consumers believe that Croatian webshops offer a lower level of service compared to other
international e-commerce websites.
