Abstract

Poslovni informacijski sustavi omogućuju prikupljanje, obradu i isporuku informacija korisnicima unutar organizacije. ERP sustavi kao integrirani poslovni informacijski sustavi pridonose procesima horizontalne i vertikalne integracije unutar poduzeća tako što podržavaju poslovne procese unutar organizacije i osiguravaju informacijsku podlogu za uspješno upravljanje poslovnim sustavima. Također služe kao uspješan alat za provođenje redizajna poslovnih procesa i kontiuiranog poboljšanja poslovnih procesa što dovodi do povećane efikasnosti i profitabilnosti te u konačnici i dostizanja konkurentske prednosti. Implementacija ERP sustava nosi sa sobom i rizike koji su povezani sa duljinom implementacije, njenim troškovima i složenošću samog procesa implementacije. Organizacije trebaju poduzeti sve potrebne korake kako bi odabrale onaj sustav koji najviše odgovara kratkoročnim ali i dugoročnim potrebama poduzeća. Isto tako trebaju pravilno izbalansirati sve ključne faktore uspjeha kako nebi došlo do prekoračenja planiranog vremena, budžeta ili u najgorem slučaju neuspjeha implementacije. Razvojem računarstva u oblaku nastale su brojne promjene u načinima korištenja i implementacije ERP sustava. Umjesto klasičnih on-premise ERP sustava, danas se poduzeća uglavnom odlučuju na odabir cloud-hosted riješenja ili pak cloud-based riješenja koje se nudi u potpunosti u obliku softver kao usluga (eng. Software as a Service-SaaS). Svaki od navedenih oblika implementacije nosi određene prednosti i nedostatke. Na hrvatskom tržištu osim brojnih inozemnih ERP sustava nude se i domaća riješenja koja uz širok spektar funkcionalnosti često garantiraju bolju lokalnu prisutnost, veću kompaktnost i jednostavnost te kraće vrijeme implementacije. Osim odabira nekog od domaćih ili inozemnih riješenja poduzeća se mogu odlučiti i za samostalni in-house razvoj vlastitog ERP sustava.

Abstract (english)

Business information systems enable collecting, processing and delivery of information to the users inside of the organization. ERP systems are integrated business information systems and as such they contribute to processes of vertical and horizontal integration inside of the organization by supporting business processes and ensuring information basis for succesful managing of business systems. They also use as a succesful tool for business process reingeneering and continious business process improvement which leads to increased efficiency and profitability and achieving competitive advantage. Implementation of ERP systems carries the risks which are connected with the lenght, costs and complexity of the implementation process. Organizations should make all the neccessary steps to ensure that chosen system is the one that matches with company's short and long range needs. All critical success factors should be properly balanced to avoid budget and timeline overruns or failure of implementation process. Development of cloud computing affected the way how ERP systems are used and implemented. Instead of classical on-premise ERP systems, today organizations mostly choose between cloud-hosted and cloud-based solutions which are available in SaaS (Software as a Service) delivery model. All of the previoulsy mentioned solutions of implementing the ERP systems have some advantages and some drawbacks. Except many widely known foreign ERP systems that are available on Croatian ERP market there are also some domestic solutions which are offering wide range of functionality, more compact, simpler and shorter implementation process. Besides choosing some of the foreign or domestic ERP systems, organizations can also choose to develop ther own ERP system in-house.
