Abstract

Emocionalna inteligencija, u okvirima poduzeća, danas dobiva sve veću pažnju, što se može vidjeti i prilikom zapošljavanja jer je njezino testiranje postao imperativ. S druge strane teorije gornjih ešalona nam govori kako karakteristike menadžera utječu na rezultate poduzeća te da je proučavanjem članova uprave moguće djelomično prognozirati buduće rezultate poduzeća. Stoga je cilj ovog istraživanja bio utvrditi postoji li povezanost između razine emocionalne inteligencije vrhovnih menadžera i uspjeha poduzeća mjeren pokazateljem ROA. U ovom istraživanju korišten je namjerni uzorak te je provedena anketa između 34 člana uprave iz 28 hrvatskih poduzeća. Rezultati istraživanja pokazali su kako postoji povezanost između razine emocionalne povezanosti vrhovnih menadžera i uspjeha poduzeća, no ona je slabog intenziteta. Drugim riječima, nije pokazano da visoka razina emocionalne inteligencije članova uprave prati vrijednost pokazatelja ROA.

Abstract (english)

Emotional intelligence, within companies, is receiving increasing attention today, which can also be seen in employment because its testing has become imperative. On the other hand, the theory of the upper echelons tells us how the characteristics of managers affect the results of the company and that by studying the members of the board it is possible to partially predict the future results of the company. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine whether there is a correlation between the level of emotional intelligence of top managers and the success of the company measured by the ROA indicator. In this research, a deliberate sample was used and a survey was conducted among 34 board members from 28 Croatian companies. The results of the research showed that there is a connection between the level of emotional connection between top managers and the success of the company, but it is of low intensity. In other words, it has not been shown that a high level of emotional intelligence of board members follows the value of the ROA indicator.
