Abstract

Menadžerske vještine važne su u raznim društvenim sferama, a tako i po mnogima „najbitnijoj sporednoj stvari na svijetu“ – nogometu. Utjecaj razvijenosti menadžerskih vještina je prisutan u svim sportovima pa tako i u nogometu, odnosno razvijenost menadžerskih vještina utječe na uspješnost obavljanja posla nogometnog trenera. Svaki nogometni trener mora imati razvijene menadžerske vještine kako bi uspješno vodio nogometnu ekipu te sukladno tome ostvarivao dobre rezultate. Svaka od pojedinih menadžerskih vještina, kao što su komunikacijske i interpersonalne vještine, vještine pregovaranja i vještine upravljanja sukobima, važne su za uspješnost nogometnih trenera, no zanimljivo je istražiti koja od menadžerskih vještina ima važniju ulogu kako bi nogometni trener bio uspješan. Empirijsko istraživanje provedeno među populacijom nogometnih trenera u Republici Hrvatskoj koji treniraju mlađe kategorije istraživalo je povezanost samo-percepcije razvijenosti menadžerskih vještina i pokazatelja uspjeha nogometnih trenera (mjereno postotkom pobjeda treniranih timova, prosječnim brojem postignutih pogodaka po utakmici te prosječnim brojem primljenih pogodaka po utakmici). Prema rezultatima provedenog empirijskog istraživanja na uzorku 50 nogometnih trenera pokazalo se da razvijenost menadžerskih vještina nije statistički značajno povezana s rezultatima koje su postigli timovi koje treniraju. No, prema samopercepcijama ispitanika, njihove su menadžerske vještine u prosjeku vrlo dobro razvijene, što implicira da su za rad nogometnih trenera razvijene menadžerske vještine važne bez obzira jesu li timovi koje treniraju uspješni ili ne.

Abstract (english)

Managerial skills are important in various social spheres, including for many the "most important secondary thing in the world" – football. The influence of the developed managerial skills is present in all sports, including football, that is, the development level of managerial skills affects the work success of a football coach. Every football coach must have developed managerial skills in order to successfully lead a football team and accordingly achieve good results. Each of the individual managerial skills, such as communication and interpersonal skills, negotiation skills and conflict management skills, are important for the success of football coaches, but it is interesting to examine which of the managerial skills has a more important role for a football coach to be successful. Empirical research conducted among the population of football coaches in the Republic of Croatia who coach younger categories examined the relation between the self-perception of the development level of managerial skills and the success indicators of football coaches (measured by the percentage of victories of the coached teams, the average number of goals scored per game and the average number of goals conceded per game). According to the results of an empirical study conducted on a sample of 50 football coaches, it was shown that the development level of their managerial skills is not statistically significantly related to the results achieved by the teams they coach. However, according to the respondents' self-perceptions, their managerial skills are on average very well developed, which implies that developed managerial skills are important for the work of football coaches, regardless of whether the teams they coach are successful or not.
