Abstract

Turizam u Makarskoj počeo se razvijati na samom početku 20. stoljeća. Od tada do danas boj dolazaka i noćenja turista bilježe kontinuiran rast. Prema Defterovom operativnom turističkom indikatoru Makarska se svrstava u prostor značajne turističke aktivnosti. Sezonalnost i masovnost sve više obilježavaju makarski turizam, a to dovodi do problema s komunalnom i prometnom infrastrukturom. Veliki prirodni potencijal ostaje neiskorišten, a turisti su sve više u potrazi za sadržajem i specifičnim oblicima turizma. Biokovo je jedan od važnijih prirodnih resursa kojim Makarska raspolaže, a planinari su ekološki osviješteni gosti koji bi ostvarili pozitivan utjecaj na turizam u Makarskoj. Za istraživanje interesa turista grada Makarske za ponudom organiziranog planinarenje provedeno je primarno istraživanje kako bi se saznalo u kojoj mjeri su turisti zainteresirani za ponudu organiziranog planinarenja. Istraživanje je provedeno u privatnim smještajnim kapacitetima te na punktovima za prodaju karata za izlete.
Istraživanje je pokazalo da 3/4 ispitanika nije upoznato s ponudom organiziranog planinarenja, a gotovo isti broj ispitanika je zainteresirano za navedenu ponudu. Trebalo bi poraditi na promociji u kojoj bi bili uključeni svi dionici u turizmu, od Turističke zajednice grada, iznajmljivača smještaja, hotelskih lanaca, turističkih agencija koje organiziraju izlete, do lokalnog stanovništva kako bi se privuklo što više planinara i motiviralo postojeće turiste na planinarenje.

Abstract (english)

Tourism in Makarska started to develop at the end of the 20th century. Since then, there has been a continuous rise in the number of tourist arrivals and nights spent at tourist accommodation establishments. According to Defter's operative tourism indicator Makarska is classified as am area of significant tourist activity. Tourism in Makarska is characterised by seasonality and mass tourism, both leading to problems with communal and transport infrastructure. On the one hand, an enormous natural potential remains untapped, while on the other hand, visitors are in a constant for new contents and special interest tourism. Mount Biokovo is one of the most important natural resource that Makarska offers, and hikers are ecologically conscious guests who would have a positive impact on tourism in Makarska. In order to find out what extend tourists are interested in the offer of organised mountain climbing a primary sourvey has been conducted. The survey has been carried out among tourists staying at private accomodation and at checkpoints selling excursions. According to survey, 3/4 said that they had not been familiar with the offer of organised mountain climbing and almost the same number expressed their interest in it. These results show that every stakeholder in tourism, starting from the Tourist Board and tourist agencies to hotel chains and private accomodation owners should been involved in promotion of this form of tourism, which would consequently attract even more hikers to visit Makarska or motivate its already existing guests to mountain climbing.
