Abstract

Pojava pandemije COVID-19 početkom 2020. godine dovela je do neviđene svjetske krize te je ostavila značajne posljedice na zdravstvene sustave i gospodarstvo. Utjecaj krize osjećaju brojna poduzeća diljem svijeta. Kako bi se smanjilo širenje zaraze vlade su primjenile razne mjere, a jedna od njih je ograničavanje kretanja ljudi. Takve restrikcije dovele su do ograničenja ili kompletnog prestanka poslovanja mnogih djelatnosti. Poduzeća kako bi opstala morala su u jako kratkom roku promijeniti svoje poslovne modele. Digitalna transformacija pokazala se od temeljne važnosti u pandemijskoj godini i teško da postoji ijedno poduzeće koje u tom periodu nije koristilo digitalne usluge u svom poslovanju. Ubrzana primjena digitalne transformacije unutar gospodarstva i društva danas, dokaz je kako je IT ključ koji omogućava razvoj i rast raznovrsnih gospodarskih grana. Općenito IT industrija je doživjela procvat u pandemijskom razdoblju, a dobar primjer je svjetski IT lider Infobip. Cilj istraživačkog dijela rada je empirijski istražiti kako je pandemija COVID-19 utjecala na poslovanje modernih IT poduzeća. U radu su pomoću financijskih izvještaja i putem financijskih pokazatelja analizirana tri velika IT poduzeća u Republici Hrvatskoj, Infobip d.o.o., Asseco SEE d.o.o. te Sedam IT d.o.o. Dobiveni izračuni omogućuju kvantitavni uvid u uspješnost poslovanja prije pojave pandemije COVID-19, te u godini nakon što je pandemija COVID-19 nastupila. Naposljetku, podaci dobiveni putem analize financijskih izvještaja, prošireni i vanjskim čimbenicima omogućuju kriznom menadžmentu lakše donošenje odluka te odabir što bolje strategije pri upravljanju krizom. Kako bi poduzeće uspješno poslovalo važno je imati dobar krizni menadžment te unaprijed osmišljen plan kako bi uspješno predbrodili krizu, što promatrana tri poduzeća i jesu imala. Provedenom analizom utvrđeno je kako je pandemija COVID-19 pozitivno utjecala na analizirana poduzeća IT industrije, ali ne jednakim intenziteom.

Abstract (english)

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic at the beginning of 2020 led to an unprecedented global crisis and had significant effects on both health systems and the economy. The impact of the pandemic has affected many companies around the world. To reduce the spread of the infection, governments worldwide have implemented a variety of measures, one of which was restricting the movement of people. Such restrictions led to the limitation or complete termination of many activities. Thus, to survive companies had to adapt their business models in a limited time. Digital transformation proved to be fundamental during the pandemic since hardly a single company did not use digital services in its operations during that period. The accelerated application of digital transformation within the economy and society today proves that IT is the key economic branch that enables rapid development and growth of numerous economic branches. In general, the IT industry experienced a significant boom during the pandemic, exemplified by the world IT leader Infobip. This paper analyses three large IT companies in the Republic of Croatia, Infobip d.o.o., Asseco SEE d.o.o., and Sedam IT d.o.o. using financial reports and indicators. The performed calculations were used to assess how successful the companies operated in the year before and the year after the onset of the pandemic. Ultimately, the data obtained through the analysis of financial statements, extended to external factors, enables the crisis management to make profound decisions and choose the optimal strategy for crisis management. For a company to operate successfully, it is crucial to have good crisis management and a pre-planned plan to successfully overcome the crisis, which was true for the three assessed companies. The conducted analysis determined that the COVID-19 pandemic had a positive impact on the analyzed companies of the IT industry, but not with the same intensity.
