Abstract

The thesis focuses on the examining the problem of human factor in organizational cybersecurity. Human factors in cybersecurity have been underutilized and undervalued. Data breaches, cyber-attacks, and virus attacks are all on the rise as a result of human-caused mistakes. In fact, 95% of cyber incidents are initiated or enabled by humans, which as a result poses as one of the greatest internal risks to the organizations. This thesis aims to explore the connection between behavioral psychology and cybersecurity, with a particular focus on the ways in which knowledge from the former can be leveraged to mitigate cybersecurity risks for organizations. By examining how malicious actors use behavioral psychology to trick users into falling for scams, this thesis seeks to shed light on the psychological underpinnings of cybercrime.

Abstract (croatian)

Tema ovog diplomskog rada usmjerena je na ispitivanje problema ljudskog faktora u organizacijskoj kibernetičkoj sigurnosti. Zapravo, 95% cyber incidenata iniciraju ili omogućuju ljudi, što kao rezultat predstavlja jedan od najvećih internih rizika za organizacije. Ovaj diplomski istražuje vezu između bihevioralne psihologije i kibernetičke sigurnosti, s posebnim naglaskom na načine na koje se znanje iz iste može iskoristiti za ublažavanje kiber sigurnosnih rizika za organizacije.
