Abstract

U prosincu 2019. svijetom se rapidno počeo širiti nepoznati virus koji u siječnju dobiva naziv korona virus. Uzrokovao je pandemiju koja je generirala ekonomsku u svakoj ekonomiji svijeta u izuzetno kratkom vremenskom periodu. Zdravstvene mjere poput karantena i cijepljenja ublažile su širenje virusa, ali su dovele do širenja ekonomskih šokova na strani agregatne ponude i potražnje. Ovaj rad prikazuje sliku zdravlja ekonomija Republike Hrvatske i Europske unije, odnosno prikazuje analizu glavnih makroekonomskih pokazatelja prije i poslije pojave pandemije. Daje uvid u mjere koje su donijeli nositelji fiskalne i monetarne politike u Republici Hrvatskoj te kakve su implikacije na održivost ekonomske politike.

Abstract (english)

In December 2019, an unknown virus rapidly began spreading around the world, which was named coronavirus in January. It caused a pandemic that generated economic shocks in every economy in the world in an extremely short period of time. Health measures such as quarantines and vaccinations have mitigated the spread of the virus but have led to the spread of economic shocks on the side of aggregate supply and demand. This paper presents a picture of the health of the economies of the Republic of Croatia and the European Union. In other words, it presents analysis of the main macroeconomic indicators before and after the pandemic. It provides insights into the measures taken by fiscal and monetary policymakers in the Republic of Croatia and the implications for the sustainability of economic policy.
