Abstract

Koncept ESG-a značajno je utjecao na tržište investicijskih fondova, ali i njihovo poslovanje i strategije ulaganja. Regulatorni zahtjevi potaknuli su upravitelje investicijskih fondova da osmisle nove proizvode i prilagode već postojeće. Pojavile su se primjedbe da investicijski fondovi propuštaju prilike za ostvarivanjem atraktivnijih prinosa kako bi svoja ulaganja prilagodili zahtjevima ESG-a. Stoga, cilj ovog rada je istražiti pristaju li upravitelji investicijskih fondova na takav kompromis i s kojim motivima. Definirane su osnovne kategorije investicijskih fondova te njihove karakteristike. Također, definiran je regulatorni okvir koji obuhvaća zahtjeve za zadovoljavanjem okolišnih, društvenih i upravljačkih kriterija. Provedena je analiza profitabilnosti investicijskih fondova po kategorijama na određenom uzorku te analiza cjelokupnog tržišta investicijskih fondova na području Europske unije te je metodom komparacije utvrđivana prisutnost kompromisa profitabilnosti i održivosti ulaganja u investicijskim fondovima.

Abstract (english)

ESG concept significantly affected investment funds market, as well as their managing and investment strategies. Regulatory requirements encouraged investment fund managers to come up with new products and to adjust existing ones. There have been remarks that investment funds are missing opportunities to achieve more atractive returns in order to adapt their investments to ESG requirements. Therefore, the main goal of this paper is to investigate whether investment fund managers agree to such a compromise and with what motives. Basic categories of investment funds and their characteristics are defined. Also, a regulatory framework that includes requirements for meeting environmental, social and governance criteria has been defined. An analysis of the profitability of investment funds by category was carried out on a certain sample, as well as an analysis of the entire investment funds market in the territory of the European Union, and the presence of compromise between profitability and sustainability of investments in investment funds was determined using the method of comparison.
