Abstract

S obzirom na efekt ubraznog načina života koji posljednjih godina pridonosi masovnoj proizvodnji i potrošnji, a time i stvaranja velike količine otpada koncept obrade biootpada dobio je veliku pozornost kao održiva alternativa u proizvodnji obnovljive energije i proizvoda s dodanom vrijednošću. Razvojem znanosti i tehnologije dostupne su različite opcije gospodarenja i obrade otpada. Kroz ovaj rad predstavit će se suvremeni koncepti i tehnologije obrade biootpada, ukazujući na prednosti i nedostatke zbrinjavanja otpada. Prolazit će se kroz učinkovitost iskorištavanja, aspekte iz drugih prespektiva te kroz izazove s kojima se čovječanstvo susreće. Za izradu rada koristiti će se relevantna znanstvena i stručna literatura, a cilj rada je pružiti pregled trenutnih trendova i budućih potencijala za pretvorbu biootpada iz različitih izvora u vrijedne produkte. Kroz primjer dobre prakse, detaljniije će se proći kroz jedan od mogućih načina gospodarenja biootpadom, preciznije proces kompostiranja.

Abstract (english)

Considering the effect of fast living, which contribus to mass production and consumption and thus to the creation of a large amount of waste, the concept of biowaste processing has received a lot of attention as a sustainable alternative in the production of renewable energy and products with added value. With the development of science and technology, various possibilites for waste management and processing are available. This paper will highlight contemporary biowaste management concepts and methods, pointing out the advantages and disadvantages of waste disposal. It will go through the efficiency of exploitation, aspects from other perspectives given the difficulties that mankind encounters. To prepare for the task, relevant academic and professional literature will be used. The goal of the paper is to provide an overview of current trends and future potential for the conversion of biowaste from different sources into valuable products. Through an example of good practice, one of the possible ways of managing biowaste, more precisely the composting process, will be covered in more detail.
