Abstract

U vremenu globalizacije sporta, velike i mega sportske manifestacije kao i njihov ekonomski značaj sve su veći. Cilj završnog rada je prikazati ekonomske aspekte industrije sporta i velikih sportskih manifestacija kroz teoretski okvir, ali i kroz primjere pri čemu je primarno korištena studija slučaja utrke WRC Croatia Rally 2022. U sportskom, ali i ekonomskom smislu utrka WRC Svjetskog prvenstva koja se održava u Hrvatskoj najveći je sportski događaj od samostalnosti Republike Hrvatske, a ozbiljnosti organizacije pridonosi provedena studija Socioekonomskog utjecaja WRC Croatia Rally 2022 na prostor središnje Hrvatske. Podaci prezentirani u studiji govore o iznimnom ekonomskom značaju koji proizlazi od 310.000 gledatelja utrke i generirane potrošnje od 105 milijuna eura. Uz budžet od ukupno tri milijuna eura utrka je osigurala ukupne proračunske prihode od 12 milijuna eura što govori o ekonomskoj važnosti ove manifestacije. Na tragu ovih podataka kreirano je istraživanje mišljenja o gospodarskom značaju velikih sportskih manifestacija i utrke WRC Croatia Rally 2022.

Abstract (english)

In the era of sports globalization, major and mega sports events, as well as their economic significance, are continually on the rise. The aim of this thesis is to elucidate the economic aspects of the sports industry and major sports events through a theoretical framework, while also providing practical examples, with the primary focus being on the case study of the WRC Croatia Rally 2022. In both sporting and economic terms, the WRC World Championship race held in Croatia represents the largest sporting event since the independence of the Republic of Croatia. The seriousness of its organization is further underscored by the conducted study on the Socioeconomic Impact of the WRC Croatia Rally 2022 on the Central Croatia region. The data presented in the study highlight the exceptional economic significance arising from the presence of 310,000 race spectators and the generated expenditure of 105 million euros. With a total budget of three million euros, the race secured overall budgetary revenues of 12 million euros, underscoring the economic importance of this event. Building upon these findings, research was conducted to gauge public opinions on the economic importance of major sports events and the WRC Croatia Rally 2022.
