Abstract

Zadovoljni zaposlenici omogućavaju napredak organizacija, a jedan od najboljih načina postizanja više razine zadovoljstva zaposlenika je putem pružanja pogodnosti i povlastica, među kojima su one koje potiču dobrobit zaposlenika. Poticanje zdravog načina života na radnom mjestu i izvan njega pomaže zaposlenicima da budu pozitivniji i ostvaruju bolje rezultate. Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je ispitati ulogu tjelesne aktivnosti u radnoj angažiranosti ispitanika s pretpostavkom da tjelesna aktivnost ima pozitivan utjecaj na radnu angažiranost. Ispitivanje je provedeno putem online anketnog upitnika u kojem su ispitanici odgovarali na pitanja o vlastitoj tjelesnoj aktivnosti i radnoj angažiranosti.

Prvi dio teorijskog dijela rada govori o konceptu tjelesne aktivnosti u poslovnom kontekstu. U sklopu ovog dijela rada prikazano je pojmovno određenje tjelesne aktivnosti, koristi koje tjelesna aktivnost može stvoriti te dosadašnje spoznaje o učincima tjelesne aktivnosti na tjelesno i mentalno zdravlje. Također, prikazano je pojmovno određenje pogodnosti i povlastica za zaposlenike te je dodatno pojašnjen koncept wellness pogodnosti odnosno pogodnosti kojima se utječe na dobrobit zaposlenika u poslovnom kontekstu. Drugi dio teorijskog dijela rada odnosi se na radnu angažiranost kao stav prema radu. Ovaj dio rada posvećen je određenju i analizi dimenzija radne angažiranosti, čimbenicima i ishodima radne angažiranosti te su analizirana dosadašnja istraživanja o ulozi tjelesne aktivnosti u radnoj angažiranosti.

U sklopu empirijskog istraživanja obrađeni su rezultati 344 ispitanika koji su pristupili popunjavanju anketnog upitnika, a rezultati su potvrdili prethodno analizirana istraživanja u kojima je zaključak da tjelesna aktivnost ima pozitivan utjecaj na radnu angažiranost ali da je utjecaj tjelesne aktivnosti koja se provodi na radnom mjestu izraženiji od tjelesne aktivnosti izvan radnog mjesta. Rezultati istraživanja doveli su do zaključka da postoji neznatna pozitivna povezanost tjelesne aktivnosti s dimenzijama radne angažiranosti te da neki oblici tjelesne aktivnosti imaju čak i negativan utjecaj na radnu angažiranost. Navedeni zaključak je sukladan rezultatima prethodnih istraživanja stručnjaka u kojima je zaključeno da je uloga tjelesne aktivnosti izvan radnog mjesta gotovo neprimjetna.

Abstract (english)

Satisfied employees enable organisations to progress, and one of the best ways to achieve higher employee satisfaction is to provide benefits in the workplace. Promoting a healthy lifestyle in and out of the workplace helps employees to be more positive and achieve better results. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of physical activity on respondents' engagement at work, assuming that physical activity has a positive impact on engagement at work. The survey was conducted using an online questionnaire in which respondents answered questions about their own physical activity and engagement at work.

The first part of the theoretical section of the study deals with the concept of physical activity in the organisational context. In this part, the conceptual definition of physical activity, the benefits of physical activity and the effects of physical activity on physical and mental health are mentioned. In addition, the conceptual definition of benefits is given and the concept of wellness benefits in the corporate context is explained in more detail. The second part of the theoretical section deals with work engagement as an attitude towards work. In this part, the definition and dimensions of work engagement, the factors and outcomes of work engagement are discussed and previous research on the role of physical activity in work engagement is analysed.

In the empirical study, the results of 344 respondents who completed the questionnaire were analysed. The results confirm previous studies indicating that physical activity has a positive impact on engagement at work. However, the impact of physical activity in the workplace is more pronounced than that of physical activity outside the workplace. The research results led to the conclusion that there is a slight positive correlation between physical activity and dimensions of work engagement and that some forms of physical activity even have a negative impact on work engagement. This conclusion is consistent with the results of previous studies by experts who concluded that the role of physical activity outside the workplace is almost insignificant.
