Abstract

Društvene mreže predstavljaju revolucionarnu promjenu u načinu na koji ljudi komuniciraju, dijele informacije i povezuju se na globalnoj razini. Postale su neizostavan dio suvremenog života stoga igraju ključnu ulogu u oblikovanju mnogih industrija uključujući i turizam. Društvene mreže sve se više koriste u svrhu putovanja zato što turisti mogu lakše istražiti turističke destinacije, isplanirati putovanje te dijeliti svoja iskustva. Društvene mreže poput Facebook-a, Instagram-a, Tik Tok-a, YouTube-a, omogućuju svojim korisnicima dijeljenje fotografija, videa i recenzija što igra ključnu ulogu u procesu donošenja odluka za turističku destinaciju. S druge strane, turističke destinacije i pružatelji usluga prepoznali su važnost prisutnosti na društvenim mrežama te ih koriste za promociju i komunikaciju s potencijalnim posjetiteljima. Influenceri imaju veliku ulogu u promociji turističke destinacije budući da dosežu širu publiku stoga mogu privući veći broj posjetitelja. Međutim uvođenje društvenih mreža u turizam uključuje i izazove poput loših recenzija i negativnih komentara koji mogu uvelike utjecati na odabir turističke destinacije.

Abstract (english)

Social networks represents a revolutionary change in the way people communicate, share information, and connect on a global scale. They have become an indispensable part of modern life and thus play a crucial role in shaping many industries, including tourism. Social networks are increasingly being used for travel purposes because tourists can more easily explore
destinations, plan trips, and share their experiences. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube allow users to share photos, videos, and reviews, which play a key role in the decision-making process for choosing a travel destination. On the other hand, tourist destinations and service providers have recognized the importance of having a presence on social networks and use these platforms for promotion and communication with potential visitors. Influencers play a significant role in promoting travel destinations since they reach a wider audience and can attract a larger number of visitors. However, the introduction of social networks into tourism also includes challenges such as bad reviews and negative comments, which can greatly impact the choice of a travel destination. The aim of this paper is to explore how social networks affects tourism.
