Abstract

Pranje novca i financiranje terorizma postao je ozbiljan problem današnjice koji uz tehnologiju neprestano dobiva nove metode. Cilj diplomskog rada je analizirati sustave i procese sprječavanja pranja novca i financiranja terorizma. Prikazati kako informacijsko tehnološka rješenje mogu pomoći u bržem i lakšem procesu sprječavanja pranja novca i financiranju terorizma. Primjenom i implementacijom informacijske tehnologije u procese sprječavanja pranja novca i financiranja terorizma prikazauje se proces prepoznavanja pranja novca i financiranja terorizma. Na temelju studija slučaja prikazana je stvarna slika korištenja informacijske tehnologije te sama implementacija iste u slučajevima pranja novca i financiranja terorizma iz financijskog svijeta. Na temelju studija slučaja implementiraju se informacijsko tehnološka rješenja te zatim analizira njihov ishod i utjecaj. Kvaliteta podataka, integracija sustava te prilagodba regulatornim promjenama ključni su faktori uspjeha. Naučene lekcije iz studija slučaja ističu važnost kvalitetnih podataka u procesima sprječavanja pranja novca i financiranja terorizma, naglašavajući potrebu za točnim i potpunim informacijama radi učinkovite analize i identifikacije sumnjivih aktivnosti. Kako bi se suočile s dinamičnim regulatornim okruženjem i zahtjevima, financijske i nefinancijske institucije trebaju kontinuirano ulagati u tehnologiju, osoblje i procese upravljanja podacima kako bi osigurale točno i sveobuhvatno praćenje i sprječavanje pranja novca i financiranja terorizma.

Abstract (english)

Money laundering and terrorist financing have become serious issues of today, continuously evolving with technology to develop new methods. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the systems and processes for preventing money laundering and terrorism financing. It aims to demonstrate how information technology solutions can assist in a faster and easier prevention process. By applying and implementing information technology in the processes of preventing money laundering and terrorism financing, the process of identifying money laundering and terrorism financing is illustrated. Based on case studies, a real picture of the use of information technology and its implementation in cases of money laundering and terrorism financing from the financial world is presented. Information technology solutions are implemented based on case studies, and then their outcomes and impacts are analyzed. Data quality, system integration, and adaptation to regulatory changes are key success factors. Lessons learned from case studies underscore the importance of quality data in the processes of preventing money laundering and terrorism financing, emphasizing the need for accurate and comprehensive information for effective analysis and identification of suspicious activities. In order to cope with dynamic regulatory environments and demands, financial and non-financial institutions need to continuously invest in technology, personnel, and data management processes to ensure accurate and comprehensive monitoring and prevention of money laundering and terrorism financing.
