Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad istražuje poljoprivredne prakse koje pridonose ostvarivanju okolišnih i klimatskih ciljeva Europske unije, s posebnim naglaskom na Zeleni plan i Zajedničku poljoprivrednu politiku (ZPP). Istaknute su ključne prakse, poput ekološke poljoprivrede, održivog stočarstva, precizne poljoprivrede, agrošumarstva, zaštite prirodnih staništa i biološke raznolikosti te zaštite vodnih resursa. Prakse koje smanjuju emisije stakleničkih plinova, optimiziraju korištenje prirodnih resursa i potiču očuvanje bioraznolikosti od središnje su važnosti za postizanje klimatske otpornosti i održivosti poljoprivrednog sektora. Rad također ističe ulogu Europske unije u poticanju održivih praksi, koja to čini financijskim poticajeima i obrazovnim inicijativama. Zaključuje se da su održive poljoprivredne prakse nužne u pokušaju smanjenja negativnih utjecaja poljoprivrede na okoliš te za dugoročnu održivost ruralnih područja u kontekstu klimatskih promjena.

Abstract (english)

This thesis explores agricultural practices that contribute to achieving the environmental and climate goals of the European Union, with a particular focus on the European Green Deal and the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The study highlights key practices such as organic farming, sustainable livestock management, precision agriculture, agroforestry, habitat protection, and biodiversity conservation, as well as water resource management. Practices aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, optimizing the use of natural resources, and promoting biodiversity are central to enhancing climate resilience and ensuring the sustainability of the agricultural sector. The thesis also emphasizes the European Union's role in encouraging sustainable practices through financial incentives and educational initiatives. It concludes that sustainable agricultural practices are essential in mitigating the negative impacts of agriculture on the environment and for ensuring the long-term sustainability of rural areas in the face of climate change.
