Abstract
The undergraduate thesis "Financial Technology (FinTech) and Financial Literacy" explores the relationship between financial technology and financial literacy. The paper provides a comprehensive overview of how FinTech solutions have evolved and their potential to enhance financial literacy. FinTech, defined as the integration of modern technology with traditional financial services, is identified as a key driver in democratizing access to financial services. It has significantly reshaped the way people interact with finances through innovations like mobile banking and robo-advisors. The thesis also discusses the importance of financial literacy, describing it as an essential skill for making sound financial decisions, especially in today's complex financial landscape. The interplay between FinTech and financial literacy is highlighted, with the thesis arguing that FinTech can enhance literacy by offering accessible educational tools. However, it also notes that financial literacy is crucial for the effective use of FinTech. Finally, the thesis suggests strategies to improve financial literacy through education, government policies, and FinTech solutions, aiming to bridge the gap in access to financial knowledge and services across different demographics.
