Abstract

Društvene mreže su jedna od najpopularnijih usluga utemeljenih na internetskoj infrastrukturi
a provođenje vremena na društvenim mrežama je jedna od najčešćih aktivnosti korisnika
Interneta. Prvi oblici društvenih mreža javljaju se 90ih godina prošlog stoljeća a do danas su
postale nezaobilazni dio svakodnevnih aktivnosti i mjesto gdje korisnici objavljuju svoje
privatne fotografije, misli i informacije. Njihova popularnost raste, broj korisnika se
konstantno povećava, dok ti isti korisnici ostavljaju iza sebe velike količine podataka. To za
posljedicu ima problem zaštite i privatnosti podataka korisnika. Cilj ovog rada je istražiti
koliko korisnici ozbiljno shvaćaju važnost privatnosti na društvenim mrežama, koliko
podataka o sebi objavljuju na Internetu te da li poduzimaju mjere zaštite. U ovom
diplomskom radu opisan je povijesni razvoj društvenih mreža, njihov značaj te prijetnje
privatnosti i mogućnosti zaštite. Kako bi se dobio što relevantniji uvid u navike korisnika
društvenih mreža u Hrvatskoj napravljena je anketa putem online upitnika. Anketa je
napravljena na uzorku od 210 ispitanika a ispunjavala se dobrovoljno putem Interneta. Podaci
dobiveni tim istraživanjem su interpretirani u ovome radu. Navedene su moguće prednosti i
nedostaci te što se može očekivati od društvenih mreža u budućnosti.

Abstract (english)

Social networks are one of the most popular services based on Internet infrastructure and
spending time on social media networks is one the most often activities by Internet users. The
first forms of social media networks arose in the early 90s of the last century and have
become a staple of daily activities as well as a location where users publish their private
pictures, thoughts and information. Their popularity is increasing, the number of users
constantly growing, while those same users leave behind them vast amounts of data. As a
consequence there is a problem of privacy and security of personal information. The goal of
this work is to research how seriously users take the importance of privacy on social media
networks, how much data about themselves to they actually publish on the Internet and do
they take steps to protect themselves. This thesis describes the historic development of social
media networks, their importance as well as threats to privacy and methods of protection. An
online survey has been conducted in order to get as relevant view as possible when it comes to
habits of social media network users in Croatia. The survey was done with a sample size of
210 subjects and was filled out voluntarily over the Internet. The data gained through this
research has been interpreted in this thesis. Here are listed possible advantages and
disadvantages that can be expected from social media networks in the future.
