Abstract

Polazna točka u ovom radu je definiranje morskog brodarstva, te prikaz njegovog razvoja od najranijih početaka koji se spominju u zapisima prije Krista pa sve do sadašnjeg stanja. Morsko brodarstvo i sve njegove podvrste kroz povijest su imali nekoliko kriza, kao što su one za vrijeme svjetskih ratova ili velikih ekonomskih kriza, međutim jačanjem uloge nafte na svjetskom tržištu, i sve jači proces globalizacije potvrđuju važnost morskog brodarstva. O važnosti morskog brodarstva govori rast flote trgovačke mornarice, kao i rast međunarodne trgovinske razmjene. Prikazana su i kretanja kapaciteta hrvatske i svjetske trgovačke flote kroza posljednja desetljeća koja pokazuju razilaženje u rezultatima kao posljedice ekonomskih, društvenih i političkih aktivnosti.

Abstract (english)

The starting point of this paper is to define sea shipping and display its development from the earliest beginnings mentioned in ancient records before Christ to the present state. Sea shipping and all of its subcategories had a few crises throughout the history, such as the world wars od big economics crises, however the increase of the role of oil on the world market and the growing process of globalization confirm the importance of sea shipping. The importance of sea shipping is visable through the growth of the merchant fleet, as well as the international merchant trade. Reviewing of fluctuation in the capacity of croatian and world merchant fleet show different results as consequences of the economics, society and political activities.
