Abstract

U današnje doba financijske globalizacije, povezanosti i otvorenosti ekonomija, ne začuđuje sve veća potražnja za stranim investicijama. Posljednjih dvadesetak godina značajnu ulogu imaju inozemna izravna ulaganja koja postaju bitan izvor vanjskog financiranja zemalja u razvoju, posebice tranzicijskih zemalja. Glavna karakteristika inozemnih izravnih ulaganja njihov je dugoročni karakter a uglavnom ih dijelimo na dvije vrste: takozvane “greenfield investicije” koje stvaraju novu imovinu i proizvodnju, te na “brownfield investicije” koje nastaju preuzimanjem i kupnjom postojećih proizvodnih poduzeća. Inozemna izravna ulaganja imaju utjecaj na određene makroekonomske pokazatelje poput BDP-a, zaposlenosti, investicija i vanjskotrgovinske razmjene, a jačina učinka ovisit će o kapacitetu i karakteristikama zemalja primatelja investicije. Hrvatska je privukla znantne razine stranog kapitala, međutim većina kapitala investirana je u već postojeće kapacitete, dok su ulaganja u nova postrojenja (greenfield investicije) gotovo izostala. Hrvatska zbog toga nije još uvijek dostigla razinu zemalja srednje Europe. U radu se razmatraju utjecaji inozemnih izravnih investicija na hrvatsku ekonomiju, analizira se preuzimanje INA-e od strane MOL-a i postavljaju se sporedni ciljevi rada a to je otkriti učinke preuzimanja INA-e na samu kompaniju te na gospodarstvo Hrvatske.

Abstract (english)

In today's age of financial globalization, cohesion and openness of economies, the increasing demand for foreign investment is not surprising. Over the last twenty years, foreign direct investment has played an important role, becoming an important source of external financing for developing countries, especially transition countries. The main feature of foreign direct investment is their long-term character, and we mainly divide them into two types: so-called “greenfield investments” that create new assets and production, and “brownfield investments” that arise from the acquisition and purchase of existing manufacturing companies. Foreign direct investments have an impact on certain macroeconomic indicators such as GDP, employment, investment and foreign trade, and the impact will depend on the capacity and characteristics of the recipient countries. Croatia has attracted considerable levels of foreign capital, however, most of the capital is invested in existing capacities, while investments in new plants (greenfield investments) are almost absent. As a result, Croatia has not yet reached the level of Central European countries. The paper discusses the effects of foreign direct investment on the Croatian economy, analyzes the takeover of INA by MOL, and posits secondary objectives of the paper, which is to discover the effects of the takeover of INA on the company itself and on the Croatian economy.
