Abstract

Prema modelu ukupne nagrade plaće nisu jedino što motivira zaposlenike na rad, ali su nezaobilazna stavka koja ima velik utjecaj zbog toga što omogućuje zadovoljavanje egzistencijalnih potreba. Prilikom odluke o upisu na fakultet, većina studenata, uz zanimanje za određeno područje rada, također razmišlja o mogućnostima zaposlenja i plaći nakon završetka istog. Studenti za vrijeme obrazovanja formiraju različita očekivanja o plaći koja se mogu, ali i ne moraju podudarati s realnim plaćama na tržištu rada. S obzirom na to da su dosta truda i vremena uložili u svoje obrazovanje, očekuju brzi povrat uloženoga nakon što se zaposle. Žele brz napredak i razvoj karijere koje prati i porast plaće u kratkom roku koja će se vidno razlikovati od plaće onih s manjim stupnjem obrazovanja. Postavlja se pitanje, što je to što determinira očekivanja o visini plaće i razlikama u plaći. Na očekivanja o plaći utječu različiti faktori koji se mijenjaju ovisno o subjektivnom mišljenju pojedinaca. Empirijskim istraživanjem htjelo se ispitati koliko realno studenti formiraju očekivanja o visini plaće i razlikama u plaći te razlikuju li se ta očekivanja i koliko ovisno o području studiranja.

Abstract (english)

According to the total rewards model, wages are not the only thing that motivates employees to work, but they are an unavoidable item that has a great impact because it enables them to meet their existential needs. When deciding to enroll in college, most students, with an interest in a particular field of work, also think about job opportunities and wage after graduating. During education, students form different wage expectations that may or may not match real wages in the labor market. Considering that they have invested a lot of effort and time into their education, they expect a quick return on their investment after they get a job. They want fast-paced career advancement and career development and a short-term pay rise that will be noticeably different from the pay of those with less education. The question is, what determines expectations about wage levels and wage differentials. Wage expectations are influenced by various factors that change depending on the subjective opinion of individuals. The empirical research sought to examine how realistically students form expectations about wage levels and wage differentials, and whether these expectations differ and how much depending on the field of study.
