Abstract

Danas je u društvu jedan od najvećih problema recikliranje otpada. Otpad predstavlja sve veći problem ne samo u Republici Hrvatskoj već općenito u svijetu. S toga su razvijenije zemlje svijeta odlučile uložiti što resursa što vremena kako bi spriječili što veće gomilanje otpada koje je nažalost počelo uvelike utjecati na zdravlje ljudi, a i na samu kvalitetu života. U sjeverozapadnoj Europi gotovo da i ne postoji odlaganje komunalnog otpada pod zemlju, dok je na jugu Europe to vrlo popularno i više od polovice komunalnog otpada se zbrinjava tako.
Najvažnija stavka otpada je sortiranje, diplomski rad će prikazati kako se baviti jednom od vrsta sortiranja, a to je recikliranje samog otpada. Na koji način se odlaže otpad u Zagrebu, kako funkcionira i na koje načine se može odloži otpada, kako reciklažna dvorišta zbrinjavaju višak otpada i kakvi su zakoni u vezi s odlaganjem otpada.
Količina otpada se može značajno smanjiti recikliranjem onih materijala koji to dozvoljavaju, na taj se način smanjuje potrošnja sirovina, uvoz sekundarnih sirovina, te potrošnja energije.

Abstract (english)

Today, one of the biggest problems in society is recycling waste. Waste is a growing problem not only in the Republic of Croatia but generally in the world. From this, the more developed countries of the world have decided to invest as much resources and time as possible in order to prevent as much accumulation of waste as possible, which unfortunately has begun to greatly affect human health, as well as the quality of life itself. In northwestern Europe there is hardly any disposal of municipal waste underground, while in southern Europe it is very popular and more than half of municipal waste is disposed of. The most important item of waste is sorting, the diploma thesis will show how to deal with one of the types of sorting, namely recycling the waste itself. How waste is disposed of in Zagreb, how it works and how it can be disposed of, how recycling yards dispose of excess waste and what are the laws regarding waste disposal.
The amount of waste can be significantly reduced by recycling those materials that allow it, thus reducing the consumption of raw materials, the import of secondary raw materials, and energy consumption.
