Abstract

Euroizacija na primjeru Hrvatske datira još iz doba bivše države, 60-tih i 70-tih godina prošlog stoljeća, gdje je stanovništvo zbog perioda visoke hiperinflacije izgubilo povjerenje u domaću valutu te se okrenulo štednji ka svjetskim valutama, njemačkoj marci ili dolaru, a dolaskom eura, dominanto ka štednji u eurima. Na štednju u hrvatskim bankama bili su potaknuti zbog povoljnih kamatama na štednju. To su pretežito nerezidenti sa dohotkom iz inozemstva. Struktura kredita banka je također bila dominantno u stranoj valuti, i to zbog prilagođavanja bilančnih pozicija valutnom riziku. Budući da euroizacija ne ostavlja puno mogućnosti izlaznih strategija u gospodarstvu, opcije za Hrvatsku čija se monetarna politika temelji na strategiji nominalnog sidra deviznog tečaja, mogućnosti su deeuroizacija ili, jednostavno, uvođenje eura, koji je i onako obvezna ispuniti kao zemlja članica Europske Unije.

Abstract (english)

Euroization, in case of Croatia, dates back to the era of the former state, in the 1960s and 1970s, where the population lost confidence in the local currency due to the period of high hyperinflation and turned to saving for world currencies, the german mark or the dollar, and with the advent of the euro, dominant towards euro savings. Croatian banks were encouraged to save because of favorable savings interest rates. These are mainly non-residents with income from abroad. The credit structure of the bank was also dominantly in foreign currency, due to the adjustment of balance sheet positions to currency risk. Since euroization does not leave many options for exit strategies in the economy , options for Croatia whose monetary policy is based on a nominal exchange rate anchor strategy, options are de-euroisation or simply introducing the euro, which it is obliged to fulfill as a member state of the European Union
