Abstract

Slobodno tržišno gospodarstvo 21. stoljeća karakteriziraju brze i radikalne promjene strukture poslovanja, strukture ponude i potražnje, konkurentnost i tehnološki napredak. Upravo tim obilježjima gospodarstva prilagođava se uspješan poduzetnik koji svojim poduzetničkim sposobnostima, osobnom motivacijom i natjecateljskim duhom savladava izazove i uspješno posluje. U radu se istražuje povezanost dobi poduzetnika i doživljaja generacijskog jaza vezanog uz različite životne dobi generacija aktivnih na tržištu rada. Navode se obilježja pojedinih generacija uvjetovana različitim socio-ekonomskim obilježjima okoline sukladno vremenu u kojem su pojedine generacije odrastale. Također su obrazloženi pojmovi poduzetnika i poduzetništva, prednosti i nedostaci ulaska u poduzetništvo, kao i čimbenici koji utječu na ulazak u poduzetništvo pripadnika svake pojedine generacije. U empirijskom dijelu rada provedeno je istraživanje generacijskog jaza u poduzetništvu putem istraživanja percepcija pripadnika tri generacije zaposlenika (najmlađa, srednja i starija) o (ne)prisutnosti poduzetničkih obilježa te razlozima za ulazak u poduzetništvo vlastite generacije i pripadnika preostale dvije generacije.

Abstract (english)

The free market economy of the 21st century is characterized by rapid and radical changes in business structure, the structure of supply and demand, competitiveness and technological progress. A successful entrepreneur adapts to these characteristics, and with the entrepreneurial skills, personal motivation and a competitive spirit, overcomes challenges and operates the business successfully. The thesis examines the relationship between the age of entrepreneurs and the experience of the generation gap related to the different ages of generations active in the market. The characteristics of the individual generations are conditioned by different socio-economic characteristics according to the time in which individual generations grew up. The concepts of entrepreneur and entrepreneurship, the advantages and disadvantages of entry into entrepreneurship, and factors that influence the entry into entrepreneurship of members of each generation are explained. In the empirical part of the thesis, a study of the generation gap in entrepreneurship was conducted through exploring perceptions of members of the three generations of employees (youngest, middle and senior generation) about the presence of entrepreneurial characteristics, and the reasons for entering into entrepreneurship of one's own generation and the members of the other two generations.
