Abstract

Neoliberalni kapitalizam i njegova težnja za maksimizacijom profita su se kroz nekoliko posljednjih desetljeća pokazala kao neefikasna rješenja za postizanje visoke razine društvenog blagostanja. Stručnjaci ne samo iz ekonomije već i iz drugih polja kao što su psihologija, sociologija i ekologija, uložili su značajne napore u stvaranju novog pravca u čijemu bi središtu bila ideja dugoročne održivosti. Rješenje do kojega su došli jest cjelovito planiranje, odnosno održivi razvoj. Uzimajući u obzir koliko značajan utjecaj industrija energenata ima na gospodarstvo, društvo, ali i okoliš, vjerojatno je da upravo ta industrija može najviše pridonijeti sa implementacijom održivog poslovanja. Iz tog razloga su napori svjetskih čelnika bili usmjereni upravo prema strožem reguliranju energetske industrije, u čemu su manje ili više uspjeli iako ostaje još dosta prostora za napredak, pa je potrebno ustrajati u zadavanju i ostvarivanju ambicioznih ciljeva.

Abstract (english)

Neoliberal capitalism and its tendency to maximize profits have proven to be ineffective solutions to achieve high levels of social welfare over the past few decades. Experts not only from economics but also from other fields such as psychology, sociology and ecology, have made significant efforts to create a new direction with the idea of long-term sustainability being at its center. The solution that they is comprehensive planning, ie sustainable development. Considering how significant the impact of the energy industry is on the economy, society, but also the environment, it is likely that this industry can contribute the most with the implementation of sustainable business. For this reason, the efforts of world leaders have been directed towards stricter regulation of the energy industry, in which they have more or less succeeded, although there is still much room for improvement, and so it is necessary to persevere in setting and achieving ambitious goals.
