Abstract

Povjerenje predstavlja jedan od najvažnijih čimbenika uspješnih društvenih odnosa, a bez kojega bi bilo otežano funkcioniranje svakodnevnih društvenih aktivnosti. Svjesnost o važnosti povjerenja najviše dolazi do izražaja u trenutcima kada je ono narušeno, a to posebno vrijedi za financijski sustav zbog njegove specifičnosti. Funkcioniranje financijskog sustava počiva na povjerenju i zbog toga je on jedan od najstrože reguliranih sustava unutar gospodarstva. Cilj ovoga rada stoga je ukazati na važnost održavanja visoke razine povjerenja unutar financijskog sustava u trenutcima kada je to potrebno, ali i prikazati kakav utjecaj ima pad povjerenja koji je posljedica različitih kriza unutar gospodarstva. Korištene metodologije, kao podrška ostvarenju glavnog cilja, su metoda istraživanja na osnovi sekundarnih podataka relevantnih izvora i metode deskriptivne statistike prilikom kreiranja grafičkih prikaza prikupljenih podataka. Povjerenje unutar financijskog sustava dijeli se na povjerenje u financijski sustav, financijske institucije i osobe koje rade unutar financijskog sustava. Stoga je potrebno ulagati u održavanje visoke razine povjerenja koja će pomoći u održavanju stabilnosti financijskog sustava i neometanom funkcioniranju istoga. Održavanju stabilnosti pomaže unapređivanje zaštitnih mehanizama koji kod potrošača stvaraju dojam kako mogu imati povjerenje u financijski sustav. Također, visoka razina povjerenja se postiže kroz provođenje nadzornih aktivnosti financijskih institucija i kvalitetnu financijsku edukaciju te zaštitu potrošača koje dodatno osnažuju povjerenje u financijskom sustavu. Kriza unutar gospodarstva predstavlja jedan od najvećih izazova za održavanje povjerenja, a razlog tome je postojanje nepovjerenja koje proizlazi iz nesigurnosti o budućim događajima unutar gospodarstva. Zbog trenutne pandemije koronavirusa, narušeni su svi aspekti društvenog i ekonomskog života te povjerenje unutar financijskog sustava. Oporavak zemalja ovisiti će o aktivnostima, koje poduzimaju nositelji politike i nadzorne institucije u cilju rješavanja ove krize.

Abstract (english)

Trust is one of the most important factors of successful social relations, without which day-to-day activities of the population would be hampered. Awareness of the importance of trust is highlighted most times when it is distorted, and this is particularly evident in the financial system because of its specific nature. The functioning of the financial system rests on trust and is, therefore, one of the most stringent regulated systems within the economy. The aim of this paper is to point the importance of maintaining a high level of trust within the system when needed, but also to show the impact of decline in trust because of the different crisis in the system. The methodologies used to support the achievement of the objectives are statistical analysis of secondary data of relevant sources and the methods of descriptive statistics in constructing graphs of collected data. Trust in the financial system can be divided into trust in the financial system, financial institutions and people working within the financial system. It is therefore necessary to invest in maintaining a high level of trust that will help to support the stability of the financial system and the smooth functioning of it. Maintaining stability helps to improve safeguards that create the impression for consumers that they can trust the financial system. Also, a high level of trust is achieved through the implementation of supervisory activities of financial institutions and quality financial education, as well as consumer protection which further strengthen trust in the financial system. The crisis within the economy is one of the biggest challenges for maintaining confidence, and the reason is the existence of distrust stemming from uncertainty about future events within the economy. Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, all aspects of social and economic life and trust within the financial system has been undermined. The recovery of countries will depend on the activities taken by policy-makers and supervisory institutions to resolve this crisis.
