Abstract
Upravljanje sistemskim rizikom postala je glavna tema brojnih ekonomista i svih regulatornih tijela u svijetu. Naime, nakon posljednje globalne financijske krize uvidjelo se kakve posljedice njegovo djelovanje može imati na stabilnost financijskih sustava i financijskog tržišta općenito, ali na realnu ekonomiju. Recentne studije ocijenjuju da se gubici povezani s financijskim krizama kreću u rasponu od 0.5% do 5% svjetskog BDP, dok potencijani gubitak proizvodnje i stvarni socijalni troškovi premašuju te iznose gotovo dvostruko. Kako bi se rizik kontrolirao i spriječile krize, nužno je postaviti čvrste regulatorne okvire unutar pojedinih zemalja, te ih uskladiti sa međunarodnim standardima. Regulatorne mjere ponajprije se trebaju odnositi na bonitetnu regulativu, bonitetni nadzor i aktivnosti praćenja promjena na financijskim tržištima i procjenu izloženosti. Isto tako, nužno je da banke same kontroliraju kreditne rizike i rizike likvidnosti, te osiguravaju adekvatnu zalihu kapitala kako bi u slučaju financijskih poteškoća imale čime podmirivati dospjele obveze, odnosno ostaju solventne.
