Abstract

U današnjoj turbulentnosti i sve veće složenosti okoline dolazi do jake potrebe za aktivnim uključivanjem poslovnih subjekata u kreiranju promjena, kao i za brzom prilagodbom stalno nadolazećih novih uvjeta. Pojam start up-a usko je vezan za razvoj IT sektora, pojavu interneta i naglog razvoja tehnološke industrije. Unatoč brojnim milijunskim investicijama i eksplozivnog razvoja pojedinih projekta i organizacija, statistike pokazuju da većina start up-a propada u prvih nekoliko godina postojanja. Također je dokazano da je period brzog rasta i ekspanzije, najosjetljivije razdoblje u postojanju svakog start up-a. Nedovoljno pripremljeni start up-ovi teško dolaze do procesa skaliranja što dovodi do velikog pritiska na operativni i financijski aspekt njihovog poslovanja, a nerijetko uzrokuje i propast tvrtke. Slijedeći primjere razvijenih zemalja, ukidajući birokratske prepreke, uvodeći porezne olakšice za rizični kapital i aktivnosti poslovnih anđela, te edukacijom i podržavanjem novoosnovanih poduzeća u poduzetničkim inkubatorima, Hrvatska ima velike mogućnosti postati nova meka za visoka ulaganja i razvoj poduzeća visokih tehnologija.

Abstract (english)

In today's turbulence and the growing complexity of the environment, there is a strong need for active involvement of business entities in creating change, as well as for the rapid adaptation of constantly emerging new conditions. The concept of start-up is closely related to the development of the IT sector, the emergence of the Internet and the rapid development of the technology industry. Despite numerous millions of investments and explosive development of individual projects and organizations, statistics show that most start-ups fail in the first few years of existence. It has also been proven that the period of rapid growth and expansion is the most sensitive period in the existence of any start-up. Insufficiently prepared start-ups find it difficult to get to the scaling process, which leads to great pressure on the operations and the financial aspect of their business, and often causes the collapse of the company. Following the examples of developed countries, removing bureaucratic obstacles, introducing tax incentives for venture capital and business angel activities, Croatia has great potential to become a new mecca for high investment and high-tech enterprise development.
