Abstract

Kockanje postoji od davnina, a njegove legalne i ilegalne verzije postoje i dandanas te ih je nemoguće iskorijeniti. Casino turizam je specifičan oblik turizma koji generira brojne ekonomske i društvene učinke. Pravilno planiranim razvojem, zemlji koja svoj turizam temelji na njemu, omogućit će izdašne prihode i veliku posjećenost, dok se s druge strane krije problem kriminalnih aktivnosti, ovisnosti i poroka. Negativni učinci mogu imati teže posljedice nego pozitivni stoga je kod opredjeljenja za razvoj ovog oblika turizma iznimno važno sagledati mogućnosti zemlje te izraditi kvalitetne i precizne projekcije onoga što casino turizam donosi. U svijetu postoje brojne destinacije koje u svojoj turističkoj ponudi imaju kockanje i privlače milijune turista svake godine. Svaka od tih destinacija ima drugačije uklopljenu ponudu kockanja u svojoj turističkoj ponudi. Macao je izričito kockarska destinacija, Las Vegas je promijenio fokus prema kockanju upotpunjeno s drugim oblicima zabave, a u Monte Carlu se casino turizam temelji na ekskluzivnosti. U Hrvatskoj postoje brojna casina i automat klubovi, ali ne postoji razvijena ponuda kockanja.

Abstract (english)

Gambling has existed since ancient times, its legal and illegal versions still exist today and it's impossible to eradicate them. Casino tourism is a form of special interest tourism that generates numerous economic and social effects. Properly planned development will enable the country, that bases its tourism on it, with generous income and high attendance, while on the other hand it hides the problem of criminal activities, addictions and vices. Negative effects can have more severe consequences than the positive ones, so when deciding on the development of this form of tourism, it is extremely important to look at the posibilities of the country and make quality and accurate projections of what casino tourism brings. There are many destinations in the world that have gambling as a part of their tourism supply and attract millions of tourists every year. Each od these destinations has a differently integrated gambling in its tourism supply. Macau is explicitly gambling destination, Las Vegas has changed its focus towards gambling complemented with other forms of entertainment and Monte Carlo has casino tourism based on exclusivity. There are numerous casinos and slot machine clubs in Croatia, but gambling isn't developed in its tourism supply.
