Abstract

Fondovi rizičnog kapitala vrlo su značajan izvor financiranja, kako za društva koja se nalaze u ranoj fazi svoga poslovanja te posjeduju visok potencijal rasta, tako i za ona koja su već duboko zakoračila u zrelu fazu i na putu su prema osipanju te im je urgentno potreban svježi kapital i interno restrukturiranje. Poticanjem osnivanja novih, inovativnih poduzeća, mobilizacijom kapitala te direktnim stvaranjem novih radnih mjesta, pobuđuju cjelokupno gospodarstvo. S obzirom na situaciju na domaćem tržištu, te slabu konkurentnost istoga u odnosu na svjetsko, jasno je zašto bi smo trebali težiti većoj aktivnosti investicijskih fondova ovoga tipa.
Kako bi fondovi bili što uspješniji, presudan je faktor menadžment te vrhunske analize. Osim analize tržišta u vidu potencijalnih investicija, fondovi pridaju mnogo pažnje analizi eksternih faktora koji imaju utjecaj na poslovanje. Model koji najbolje prikazuje utjecaj svih sila jest model pet sila razvijen od strane Michaela Portera. Upravo iz tih razloga, navedeni model polazna je točka u empirijskom istraživanju i analizi industrije fondova rizičnog kapitala u Republici Hrvatskoj.

Abstract (english)

Private Equity and Venture capital funds present are a very important source of funding, both for companies that are in the early stages of their business and have high growth potential, as well as for those that have already stepped deep into the mature phase and are on the verge of collapse and urgently need fresh capital and internal restructuring. By driving the formation of new, innovative companies, mobilizing capital and directly creating new jobs, they stimulate the entire economy. Given the situation on the domestic market, and its weak competitiveness in relation to the world, it is clear why we should strive for greater activity of investment funds of this type.
In order for the funds to be as successful as possible, the crucial factor is the management and top level analysis. In addition to market analysis in the form of potential investments, funds pay much attention to the analysis of external factors that have an impact on business. The model that best illustrates the influence of all forces is the five-force model developed by Michael Porter. Precisely for these reasons, this model is the starting point in empirical research and analysis of the venture capital fund industry in the Republic of Croatia.
