Abstract

Today, companies are facing accelerated changes at the micro, macro and international levels. Research and development, innovation activity is gaining in importance precisely because of such changes. Major global manufacturers are often under pressure to constantly innovate so as not to lose their market share. Reduced intensity or even neglect of investment in research and development activities, or innovations, can have serious consequences on the competitiveness of enterprises. In the twenty-first century, the key drivers of innovation are those enterprises that follow technological and market changes. Innovation is not created as an isolated activity of an enterprise, but can be aided by encouraging different types of cooperation between clients, suppliers and consumers, etc. Such a division of costs and roles results in lower costs and increases the chances of successful innovation. Innovative companies are faced with an increased concentration of competitive forces and the spread of new technologies that reduce the life of final products and accelerate the production and marketing process of an innovative product, process and service. Therefore, companies are encouraged to innovate more, faster and better. In other words, encouraging investment in R&D activities and enhancing the ability to innovate builds solid foundations for technological leadership and high levels of enterprise competitiveness. As part of the work, a research was conducted on a concrete example of the introduction of new innovations by wood processing company Pan Parqueti ltd. and the impact of new innovations on better business performance and employment of new workers.
