Abstract

Voda je najzastupljenija tvar u građi svih živih bića te vodom zadovoljavamo osnovnu ljudsku potrebu. Voda je i transportni medij, sredstvo za proizvodnju energije, hrane, roba, lijekova, prostor za rekreaciju. Ukupni količina svježe vode u tekućem stanju, koja je dostupna za razne ljudske potrebe, u neprekidnom su opadanju. Tako se raspoloživost dostupnih vodnih resursa u zadnji 50 godina smanjila gotovo dvostruko. Navedeno se može pojasniti prije svega intenzivnim rastom broja stanovnika i urbanizacije zemalja u razvoju te sve većom potrošnjom vode u raznim gospodarskim sektorima, a što u konačnici dovodi do sve izraženijeg nekontroliranog iscrpljivanja i onečišćenja vode. Procjenjuje se da 76 % stanovništva raspolaže s manje od 5.000 m3 vode po stanovniku godišnje, a 35 % stanovništva s manje od 2.000 m3 vode po stanovniku godišnje. Također, procjenjuje se da će do 2025. godine potrošnja vode biti povećana za 33,5 % u odnosu na 2004. godinu te da će 30-35 % ljudi raspolagati s manje od 1.000 m3 vode po stanovniku godišnje. Najvažniji i najveći gospodarski sektor po ukupno zahvaćenim i potrošenim količinama vode je poljoprivredna proizvodnja (66 %), zatim slijede industrija (20 %), kućanstva (10 %) i evaporacija (4 %). Potrebno je racionalno i održivo gospodariti vodnim resursima u cilju povećanja proizvodnih mogućnosti, ali i održivosti života u agroekosustavu.

Abstract (english)

Water is the most common substance in the structure of all living beings and water satisfy the basic human need. Water is the transport medium, a means of producing energy, food, goods, pharmaceuticals, space for recreation. The total potentials of fresh liquid water, which are available for various human needs, are constantly declining. Thus, the availability of the available water resources in the last 50 years decreased almost twice. This can be explained primarily by progressive population growth and urbanization in developing countries and increasing water consumption in various sectors, which results in increasingly uncontrolled water abstraction and pollution. It is estimated that 76 % of the population has less than 5,000 m3 of water per capita per year, and 35 % of the population with less than 2,000 m3 of water per capita per year. Also, it is estimated that water consumption will increase by 33.5 % by 2025 compared to 2004 and that 30- 35 % of people will have less than 1,000 m3 of water per capita per year. The most important and largest economic sector in terms of total abstracted and consumed quantities of water is agricultural production (66 %), followed by industry (20 %), households (10 %) and evaporation (4 %). It is necessary to rationally and sustainably manage water resources in order to increase production opportunities, but also the sustainability of life in the agroecosystem.
