Abstract

Mirovinska osiguravajuća društva predstavljaju temeljne subjekte isplate mirovina na temelju individualne kapitalizirane štednje u Republici Hrvatskoj. Međutim, tržište je slabo razvijeno čemu u prilog govori činjenica kako je tek 2021. godine s poslovanjem započelo drugo mirovinsko osiguravajuće društvo. S druge strane, uslijed izraženih nepovoljnih demografskih kretanja, udio starije populacije u cjelokupnom stanovništvu značajno raste, pri čemu se bilježi sve veći broj umirovljenika pa samim time i isplaćenih mirovina na temelju obvezne i dobrovoljne individualne kapitalizirane štednje. Paralelno jača svijest javnosti o nužnoj potrebi za individualnom brigom o štednji za mirovinu, ukoliko žele zadržati jednaki životni standard u razdoblju umirovljenja. Time su stvoreni preduvjeti za daljnji razvoj tržišta mirovinskih osiguravajućih društava u Republici Hrvatskoj, pri čemu je ono dodatno uvjetovano razinom financijske pismenosti stanovništva. Stoga je na temelju analize statističkih i znanstvenih činjenica te dodatno dobivenih rezultata putem provedenog empirijskog istraživanja moguće zaključiti da Republika Hrvatska ima ispunjene određene preduvjete za uspješan daljnji razvoj tržišta mirovinskih osiguravajućih društava. Međutim, u određenoj mjeri uvjetovan je zakonskom regulativom, dok nastupanje razdoblja ulaska novih konkurenata na tržište ili pružanja novih mogućnosti isplata mirovina dodatno ovisi o informiranosti i svjesnosti šire javnosti o važnosti individualne kapitalizirane štednje i općenitim značajkama poslovanja mirovinskih fondova i mirovinskih osiguravajućih društava.

Abstract (english)

Pension insurance companies are the elementary subjects of pension payments based on individual capitalized savings in the Republic of Croatia. However, the market is poorly developed, which is supported by the fact that only one pension insurance company existed until 2021., when the second pension insurance company started operating. On the other side, due to pronounced unfavorable demographic trends, the percentage of the elderly population in the total population is growing significantly, with an increasing number of retirees and thus paid pensions based on mandatory and voluntary individual capitalized savings. At the same time, public awareness of the urgent need for individual care for retirement savings, in order to maintain the same standard of living in retirement, is growing. This created the preconditions for the further development of the market of pension insurance companies in the Republic of Croatia, whereby it is additionally conditioned by the level of financial literacy of the population. Therefore, based on the analysis of statistical and scientific facts and additional results obtained through empirical research, it is clear that the Republic of Croatia has most of the prerequisites for significant and successful development of the market of pension insurance companies. However, it is also conditioned by legislation, while the start of the period of new competitors entering the market or providing new opportunities for pension payments further depends on the information and awareness of the general public about the importance of individual capitalized savings and the general features of pension funds and pension insurance companies.
