Abstract

Uvođenje eura kao službene valute u Hrvatskoj tema je koja intrigira ekonomiste već dugi niz godina, a uzme li se u obzir da se datum konačnog usvajanja eura bliži te da Hrvatska time postaje punopravna članica ne samo Europske unije, već i Ekonomske monetarne unije, tema je predmet rasprava, ne samo od strane ekonomista, već i u široj javnosti. Pritom je važno napomenuti da je rasprava o uvođenju eura važna jer će imati značajan utjecaj u uspješnoj integraciji valutne unije. Diplomski rad detaljno opisuje strategiju uvođenja eura sa naglaskom na ispunjavanje kriterija konvergencije. Glavno poglavlje rada je razrada potencijalnih prednosti koje Hrvatska može očekivati od ulaska u europodručje, a u sklopu rada provodeno je i istraživanje kroz anketni upitnik. Tema istraživanja je analiza stavova građana o prednosima koje donosi euro. U pisanju rada korišteni su sekundarni podaci navedeni u popisu literature te primarni podaci prikupljeni u sklopu anketnog upitnika.

Abstract (english)

The introduction of the euro as the official currency in Croatia has been an intriguing topic for many years, and if we take into account that the date of the final adoption of the euro is approaching and that Croatia is becoming a full member not only of the European Union but also of the Economic Monetary Union, the topic of the thesis is the subject of discussion, not only by economists but also by the general public. It is important to note that the discussion on the introduction of the euro is important because it will have a significant impact on the successful integration of the monetary union. The thesis describes in detail the strategy of the introduction of the euro with an emphasis on meeting the convergence criteria. The main chapter of the paper is the elaboration of potential advantages that Croatia can expect from joining the euro area, and as part of the paper, a survey was conducted through a survey questionnaire. The topic of the research is the analysis of citizens' attitudes about the benefits of the euro. Secondary data listed in the bibliography and primary data collected as part of the survey questionnaire were used in writing the paper.
