Abstract

U ovom radu analiziran je utjecaj obrazovanja na razvoj gospodarstva nekih država svijeta i Europske Unije s fokusom na Hrvatsku. Obrazovanje je danas neizostavan čimbenik ekonomskog prosperiteta svake države. Prikupljani su i analizirani podaci iz područja obrazovanja te uspoređeni s gospodarskim pokazateljima u državama EU i Republici Hrvatskoj. U središnjem dijelu rada razmatraju se podaci o javnim ulaganjima u obrazovanje, stanju i stupnju obrazovanja te njegovom utjecaju na BDP pojedinih zemalja EU i svijeta. Rezultati tih istraživanja pokazuju da je odnos ulaganja u obrazovanje i ekonomske razvijenosti dugoročan što znači da nakon ulaganja, BDP pojedine države može porasti tek kroz nekoliko godina. Njihov odnos također je i dvosmjeran, tj. veća ekonomska razvijenost potiče veće ulaganje u obrazovanje i obrnuto, što se više ulaže u sektor obrazovanja to je gospodarstvo pojedine države razvijenije. U usporedbi s prosjekom EU, Republika Hrvatska ima iznad prosječna ulaganja u obrazovanje. Strukturnim reformama i kurikularnom reformom koja je u tijeku, nastoji osigurati ekonomski rast, a posljedično i veći standard i kupovnu moć stanovništva.

Abstract (english)

This paper analyzes the impact of education on the economic development of some countries in the world and the European Union with an emphasis on Croatia. Education is today an indispensable factor in the economic prosperity of every country. Data from the field of education analyzed and compared with economic indicators in the EU countries and the Republic of Croatia. Paper discusses data on public investment in education, the state and level of education and their impact on the GDP of individual EU countries and the world. The results of these studies show that the relationship between investment in education and economic development is long-term, which means that after investing the country's GDP can grow only in a few years. Their relationship is also two-way, ie higher economic development encourages greater investment in education and vice versa, the more investment is made in the education sector, the more developed the country's economy. Compared to the EU, the Republic of Croatia has above-average investments in education. Structural reforms and curricular reform seek to ensure economic growth and a higher standard and purchasing power of the population.
