Abstract

Klimatske promjene imaju utjecaj na sve dijelove svijeta i mnoge važne sektore, uključujući
poljoprivredu, sigurnost hrane, opskrbu vodom, promet, energiju i druge, a očekuje se da će se
negativni učinci pogoršati u sljedećim desetljećima. Jedan od sve prepoznatijih izravnih ili
neizravnih učinaka globalnih promjena okoliša je prisilna migracija. Na primjer, podizanje
razine mora natjerat će ljude da se presele iz nizinskih obalnih područja ili otoka. Migracije su
često posljedica brojnih slojevitih uzroka, uključujući ekonomske, društvene i političke
čimbenike, koji su pogoršani promjenom okolišnih, razvojnih i demografskih uvjeta. Očekuje
se da će migracija vezana za klimu porasti u narednim godinama, osobito u najsiromašnijim
zemljama svijeta.

Abstract (english)

Climate change is having an impact on all parts of the world and many important sectors,
including agriculture, food security, water supply, transportation, energy, and others, and the
negative effects are expected to worsen in the coming decades. One of the increasingly
recognized direct or indirect effects of global environmental change is forced migration. Rising
sea levels, for example, will force people to relocate from low-lying coastal areas or islands.
Migration is frequently the result of a number of layered causes, including economic, social,
and political factors, which are exacerbated by changing environmental, developmental, and
demographic conditions. Climate-related migration is expected to rise in the coming years,
particularly in the world's poorest countries.
