Abstract

Cestovni promet ima velik utjecaj na klimatske promjene, što se očituje u emitiranju CO2 u atmosferu i nastalim promjenama koje nepovoljno utječu na klimu i okoliš te postupno dovode do najznačajnijeg problema današnjice – globalnog zatopljenja. Jedan od glavnih uzroka porasta emisija stakleničkih plinova je korištenje fosilnih goriva odnosno oslobađanje CO2 prilikom izgaranja nafte, ugljena i plina. Ugljikov dioksid je plin koji stvara efekt staklenika u atmosferi te nastaje kao posljedica ljudskog djelovanja i uvelike utječe na globalno zatopljenje koje predstavlja ozbiljnu opasnost za razvoj budućeg života na Zemlji. Kako bi se emisije CO2 smanjile, EU poduzima određene mjere zaštite i razvija strategije kojima bi se čim više ublažio nepovoljan utjecaj uzrokovan oslobađanjem štetnih plinova koje proizvode automobili. S obzirom na vrstu prometa, cestovni promet ima najznačajniji utjecaj na klimatske promjene zbog najvećeg udjela emitiranja stakleničkih plinova u atmosferu. Za zaštitu okoliša i klimatskih promjena od velike su važnosti i međunarodni sporazumi koji obuhvaćaju područje klime te budući aspekti prometne politike EU.

Abstract (english)

Road transport has a major impact on climate changes, which is reflected in the emission of Co2 into the atmosphere and the resulting changes that adversely affect the climate and the environment and gradually lead to the most significant problem of today - global warming. One of the main causes of the increase in greenhouse gas emissions is the use of fossil fuels, ie the release of CO2 during the combustion of oil, coal and gas. Carbon dioxide is a gas that creates a greenhouse effect in the atmosphere and is created as a result of human activity and greatly affects global warming, which poses a serious threat to the development of future life on Earth. In order to reduce CO2 emissions, the EU is taking certain protection measures and
developing strategies to mitigate as much as possible the adverse effects caused by the release of harmful gases produced by cars. By the type of traffic, road transport has the most significant impact on climate change due to the largest share of greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere. International agreements covering the field of climate and future aspects of EU transport policy are also of great importance for the protection of the environment and climate changes.
