Abstract

As it stands in the introduction the aim of this thesis was to bring the reader closer to topic of
strategic management of technology based industries: mobile phone industry as well as to
provide them with new and interesting insights in that field
What we can conclude from this work is that technology based industries are important part
of every other industry. Every business today uses some kind of technology from computers.
machines to any other way of doing business , production or supplying. Mobile phone
industry is a part of this world and as it can be concluded just from watching people on the
streets that almost everyone uses mobile phones. But they came a long way from just being
devices for communication. They are taking over the role of doing almost everything. It is
hard to imagine people today without mobile phones. People use them to read news, send
emails, arrange businesses, make video conferences, send data, keep their hart rate in check,
make photos, movies , buy books, buy clothes etc. On the other hand mobile phones became
platform for many other business from social media ones to sports gaming and advertising
industries. We can say that people became dependent on these products. So for producers of
this items it is very important to know how to stay in the game and keep track with forever
changing environment. It is clear that it is no longer enough to have a good product and call it
a day. This industry is now based on constant innovation and creating and satisfying demand
and needs of customers they even didn’t know they have. Key thing is to have right
information, which is a base for doing every other step. Information is company’s biggest
asset. For this reason it must be adequately protected from the threats to which information is
exposed. This risk is increasingly emphasized in technology industries, where business is
based mainly on electronic communication between people trough communication networks.
When having the right information companies has the ability to take over the market and gain
great part of market share and profits. Mobile phone industry is constantly reshaping which
certainly gives big opportunities not just for mobile producers and manufacturers but to
companies and individuals from many other types of industries.
