Abstract

U diplomskom radu Razvoj metode scenarija u okviru poduzeća Royal Dutch Shell koriste se metode analize i sinteze, kompilacije i deskripcije te indukcije i dedukcije. Cilj rada se ističe u namjeri usmjerenoj prema potvrdi činjenice da je korištenje metode scenarija u suvremenom upravljanju važno, ali isto tako se cilj ističe u identifikaciji jedinstvenog doprinosa koji je Royal Dutch Shell imao u razvoju metode scenarija. Kroz pregled teorijskog okvira koji se primarno odnosi na strategiju, upravljanje i scenarije, jasno do izražaja dolazi njihova međusobna povezanost i ključna uloga koju strategija ima u upravljanju odnosima organizacije s okruženjem, ali isto tako jasno do izražaja dolazi izuzetna važnost primjene scenarija u suočavanju s neizvjesnostima budućnosti. Također, jedan veliki dio rada se odnosi na Royal Dutch Shell, a upravo u tom dijelu rada do izražaja dolazi razvoj metode scenarija i njena praktična primjena. Na kraju rada se zaključuje kako s obzirom na karakteristike suvremenog poslovnog okruženja i mogućih budućnosti, metoda scenarija u suvremenom upravljanju predstavlja izuzetno važan faktor. Također, na kraju rada se ističe kako Royal Dutch Shell uistinu predstavlja izvor jedinstvenog doprinosa razvoju metode scenarija. Svrha ovog rada, uz ostvarivanje postavljenog cilja, ističe se u namjeri pružanja relevantnih informacija koje su od koristi planerima i analitičarima neovisno o industriji u kojoj djeluju.

Abstract (english)

In the master's thesis Development of the scenario method within Royal Dutch Shell, the methods of analysis and synthesis, compilation and description, and induction and deduction are used. The aim of the thesis is emphasized in the intention aimed at confirming the fact that the use of the scenario method in modern management is important, but also the goal is emphasized in identifying the unique contribution that Royal Dutch Shell had in the development of the scenario method. Through a review of the theoretical framework that primarily relates to strategy, management and scenarios, their interconnectedness and the key role that strategy plays in managing the organization's relationship with the environment are clearly highlighted, but the crucial importance of applying scenarios in dealing with uncertainties of the future also clearly comes to fore. Also, a large part of the thesis relates to Royal Dutch Shell, and it is in this part of the thesis that the development of the scenario method and its practical application come to the fore. At the end of the thesis, it is concluded that given the characteristics of the modern business environment and possible futures, the scenario method in modern management is an extremely important factor. Also, at the end of the thesis, it is pointed out that Royal Dutch Shell truly represents a source of unique contribution to the development of the scenario method. The purpose of this thesis, in addition to achieving the set goal, is emphasized in the intention to provide relevant information that is useful to planners and analysts regardless of the industry in which they operate.
