Abstract

We live in a world where a lot of private information through social media is provided to friends/followers. Databases are more and more powerful as technology advances. This paper will provide structured explanation of the databases and their types. As the Internet and the number of Internet users grows, the amounts of data grow exponentially. Consequently, the rise of Big Data happened. This paper introduces potential risks people are facing while sharing personal information, locations, and other content online, precisely on Facebook. However, they are not aware of possible risks. In this paper, intention is to find out are people aware of how their data is being used, where is it stored and who has access to it.

Abstract (croatian)

Živimo u svijetu u kojem se puno privatnih informacija putem društvenih medija pruža prijateljima/sljedbenicima. Baze podataka su sve moćnije kako tehnologija napreduje. Ovaj će rad dati strukturirano objašnjenje baza podataka i njihovih vrsta. Kako Internet i broj korisnika Interneta rastu, količine podataka rastu eksponencijalno. Posljedično, dogodio se uspon Big Data. Ovaj rad predstavlja potencijalne rizike s kojima se ljudi susreću tijekom dijeljenja osobni podaci, lokacije i drugi sadržaji na mreži, točnije na Facebooku. Međutim, nisu svjesni mogućih rizika. U ovom radu namjera je saznati jesu li ljudi svjesni kako se njihovi podaci koriste, gdje se pohranjuju i tko im ima pristup.
