Abstract

With As it stands in the introduction, the aim of this thesis was to bring the reader
closer to the nowadays popular topic of human resource management and provide him new
and interesting insights in that field. With development of new economy and knowledge
workers, human resource manager’s role became increasingly important. People are our most
valuable assets and company should use it wisely. In this paper, we described basic human
resource processes. Company should invest more resources in attracting and developing
human resources. Business strategy and HRM became connected in 21st century. Regardless
their business strategy on industry, companies are not able to gain competitive advantage or
develop without HRM. Nowadays we have examples of many companies such as Apple,
Google, and Microsoft that became industry leaders based on their human capital. People are
main drivers of innovation and development and because of that, they should be main focus of
every business strategy. Human resource management change dramatically during last 20
years, now we have different type of industry that is driven with „heads more than hands“.
Because companies should firstly concentrate on developing their target market, that can
bring them competitive advantage to market. Each company has its own competitive strategy
and according to that should determine their target intellectual capital. Knowledge workers
are vital for every company, but companies still need to invest to develop their qualities.
Without right trading, motivation and development companies are not able to take advantage
of their human capital. Because of that human resource process is very important and should
be implemented in every company. Adris group has provided example of successful strategy
that is used to attract educated people with Croatian routes that live abroad. Company address
important social issue of young and well educated people that are living abroad. This people
are highly valuable assets to company, due to their knowledge, experience and ability to speak
more languages.
