Abstract

Današnje turbulentno i dinamično okruženje uzrokuje drastične promjene u gotovo svakoj industriji u svijetu. Globalizacija u cijelom svijetu, povećana konkurencija, veća očekivanja kupaca, eksponencijalni rast tehnologije su, bez sumnje, glavni pokretači ovih promjena. Globalna financijska kriza 2008. godine pokrenula je fuziju novih tehnologija koje su uzrokovale promjene na financijskim tržištima. Uspon financijske tehnologije, poznate pod nazivom FinTech, dovodi do disintermedijacije financijskog sektora te pojave novih sudionika na tržištu kredita. Na javi financijske krize 2008., kada su banke ograničile kreditiranje, kako potrošača tako i malih i srednjih poduzeća te posljedično izgubile povjerenje javnosti, integrirala se nova skupina zajmodavaca kako bi ispunila novonastalu prazninu na tržištu kredita tzv. FinTech zajmodavci. FinTech zajmodavci predstavljaju alternativne izvore financiranja od kojih je peer to peer kreditiranje najzastupljeniji oblik financiranja. Aktualnost ove teme leži u činjenici da u razdoblju brzorastuće digitalne ekonomije, sve veće ponude FinTech kredita i prednostima koje nudi poput brzine procesa odobravanja kredita, lakšeg pristupa kreditima manje posluženim segmentima tržišta te nižim operativnim troškovima, potražnja za takvim alternativnim izvorima financiranja je u kontinuiranom porastu. Cilj ovog rada je upoznati se s vrstama i obilježjima peer to peer kreditiranja, njihovim prednostima i nedostacima, platformama putem kojih djeluje te preferencijama mladih generacija prema takvom načinu financiranja. Peer to peer kreditiranje je rastuća industrija s izuzetnim potencijalom za privlačenje zajmoprimaca poput potrošača, srednjih i malih poduzeća, startup-ova, a s druge strane investitora koje čine bogati pojedinci, poduzeća i financijske institucije. Time se stvaraju dodatne mogućnosti ulaganja i postavljaju novi standardi kreditiranja. Postavlja se pitanje koliko su mlade generacije upoznate s takvom vrstom financiranja te kakvi su njihovi stavovi o alternativnim izvorima financiranja.

Abstract (english)

Today's turbulent and dynamic environment is causing drastic changes in almost every industry in the world. Globalization throughout the world, increased competition, higher expectations of customers, exponential growth of technology are, without a doubt, the main drivers of these changes. The global financial crisis of 2008 triggered a fusion of new technologies that caused changes in financial markets. The rise of financial technology, known as FinTech, leads to the disintermediation of the financial sector and the emergence of new participants in the credit market. At the onset of the financial crisis in 2008, when banks limited lending to both consumers and small and medium-sized enterprises and consequently lost public trust, a new group of lenders integrated to fill the newly created gap in the credit market, the so-called FinTech lenders. FinTech lenders represent alternative sources of financing, of which peer-to-peer lending is the most common form of financing. The relevance of this topic lies in the fact that in the period of the rapidly growing digital economy, the ever-increasing offer of FinTech loans and the advantages it offers such as the speed of the loan approval process, easier access to loans for less-served market segments and lower operating costs, the demand for such alternative sources of financing is continuously increasing. The aim of this paper is to get acquainted with the types and characteristics of peer to peer lending, their advantages and disadvantages, the platforms through which it operates, and the preferences of young generations for this type of financing. Peer to peer lending is a growing industry with exceptional potential to attract borrowers such as consumers, medium and small businesses, startups, and on the other hand investors consisting of wealthy individuals, companies and financial institutions. This creates additional investment opportunities and sets new lending standards. The question arises as to how familiar the young generation is with this type of financing and what are their views on alternative sources of financing.
