Abstract

Svjetsko tržište održivih (ESG) investicijskih fondova kontinuirano se razvija te se širi ponuda financijskih proizvoda baziranih na održivom ulaganju. Broj ESG UCITS fondova u Europi, kao i vrijednost njihove neto imovine je u stalnom porastu tijekom posljednjih pet godina kao odgovor na rastuću potražnju za održivim ulaganjem. Europska unija kontinuirano radi na razradi potrebne regulative. Motivacija za pisanje ovog rada je aktualnost teme ESG-a te nedovoljna razvijenost tržišta održivih investicijskih fondova u Hrvatskoj. Ciljevi rada su istražiti uzroke toga, ispitati kakva je budućnost za takve financijske proizvode te što može potencijalno potaknuti potražnju za njima. Provedeno je istraživanje kvalitativnom analizom kroz triangulacijski proces intervjuiranjem stručnjaka relevantnih za područje istraživanja, ispitujući njihove stavove o okolišnim, društvenim i upravljačkim čimbenicima s ciljem uvida u više perspektiva mogućnosti razvoja održivih investicijskih fondova i njihove budućnosti na hrvatskom tržištu.

Abstract (english)

The global market of sustainable (ESG) investment funds is continuously developing and the offer of financial products based on sustainable investment is expanding. The number of ESG UCITS funds in Europe, as well as the value of their net assets, has been steadily increasing over the past five years in response to the growing demand for sustainable investing. The European Union is continuously working on developing the necessary regulations. The motivation for writing this paper is the relevance of the topic of ESG and the insufficient development of the market of sustainable investment funds in Croatia. The goals of the paper are to examine the causes of this, to examine what the future holds for such financial products and what can potentially stimulate the demand for them. The research was conducted through a qualitative analysis through a triangulation process by interviewing experts relevant to the research area, examining their views on environmental, social and governance factors with the aim of gaining insight into multiple perspectives of developing sustainable investment funds and their future on the Croatian market.
