Abstract Koncept softvera digitalnog blizanca nastao je 2002. godine na Sveučilištu Michigan od strane profesora Michaela Grieves-a te se do danas razvio u, nedvojbeno, jednog od najpopularnijih tehnoloških trendova. Digitalni blizanci su virtualne replike fizičkih objekata pomoću kojih možemo pokretati simulacije prije nego što je stvarni fizički objekt napravljen i pušten u rad ili optimizirati njihove performanse, povećavajući tako i efikasnost, pomoću IoT podataka u stvarnom vremenu, umjetne inteligencije i analitike podataka. Primjeri primjene tehnologije digitalnih blizanaca danas se mogu naći u mnogim industrijama, a smatra se da najveći potencijal ova tehnologija ima u industrijama kao što su proizvodnja, automobilska industrija, građevinarstvo i zdravstvo. Digitalni blizanci danas su jedna od najperspektivnijih tehnologija Industrije 4.0 i pametne proizvodnje a karakterizira ih besprijekorn integracija kibernetičkog i fizičkog prostora. Neke od najistaknutiijh korisnosti koje primjena ove tehnologije donosi u poslovanju su: ubrzanje procjene rizika i vremena proizvodnje, prediktivno održavanje, daljinski nadzor u stvarnom vremenu, bolja timska suradnja i bolje donošenje odluka.
U prvom dijelu rada fokus je na teorijskom objašnjenju koncepta digitalnog blizanca, dok se drugi dio rada odnosi na empirijsko istraživanje o informiranosti i stavovima o tehnologiji digitalnih blizanaca. Budući da su digitalni blizanci nastali relativno nedavno, velikoj većini ljudi ova je tehnologija i dalje nepoznata ili nedovoljno poznata. U skladu s tim, cilj ovog rada je pobliže se upoznati s tehnologijom digitalnih blizanaca te na konkretnim primjerima objasniti njihovu ulogu u ostvarivanju konkurentske prednosti za poduzeća. Cilj anketnog upitnika je dati objektivan prikaz trenutnog stanja percepcije o ovoj, relativno novoj, tehnologiji i njenoj primjeni u poslovanju. Anketnim upitnikom obuhvaćen je uzorak od 102 osobe koji pripadaju studentskoj populaciji, a istraživanje se provodilo u periodu od 1. srpnja 2022. do 27. srpnja 2022. godine. Rezultati dobiveni upitnikom su obrađeni i interpretirani te pokazuju da velik postotak ispitanika još uvijek nije dovoljno informiran niti upoznat sa tehnologijom digitalnih blizanaca, ali su njihovi stavovi većinom pozitivni te su općenito otvoreni prema promjenama koje bi ona mogla donijeti.
Abstract (english) The concept of digital twin software was created in 2002 at the University of Michigan by Professor Michael Grieves and has developed into, undoubtedly, one of the most popular technological trends to date. Digital twins are virtual replicas of physical objects with which we can run simulations before the actual physical object is built and deployed or optimize their performance, thus increasing efficiency, using real-time IoT data, artificial intelligence and data analytics. Examples of the application of digital twin technology can be found in many industries today, but it is believed that this technology has the greatest potential in manufacturing, the automotive industry, construction and healthcare. Today, digital twins are one of the most promising technologies of Industry 4.0 and smart production. Digital twins are characterized by a seamless integration of cyberspace and physical space. Some of the most prominent benefits that the application of this technology brings to business are: speeding up risk assessment and production time, predictive maintenance, real-time remote monitoring, better team collaboration and better decision-making. In the first part of the paper, the focus is on the theoretical explanation of the digital twin concept, while the second part of the paper refers to empirical research on knowledge, attitudes and opinions about digital twin technology. Since digital twins were created relatively recently, this technology is still unknown to the vast majority of people. Accordingly, the aim of this paper is to get to know the technology of digital twins and to explain their role in achieving a competitive advantage for companies. The aim of the survey questionnaire is to provide and objective presentation of the current state of perception about this relatively new technology and its application in business. The survey questionnaire included a sample of 102 students, and the research was conducted in the period from July 1, 2022 to July 27, 2022. The results obtained from the questionnaire were processed and interpreted and they show that a large percentage of respondents are still not sufficiently familiar with digital twin technology, but their attitudes are mostly positive and they are generally open to the changes it could bring.
