Abstract

The aim of this Master's Thesis is to analyze the contemporary retail market conditions that all companies experience and particularly organizations that possess an opportunity to use their agile organizational structure to adapt themselves to ever changing and tougher global economic conditions. This topic has especially gained attention since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and since the start of still ongoing military conflict in Ukraine. In particular, the most attention is given to the market position of IKEA's only Croatian retail store, located near the capital, Zagreb. In this Thesis viewer is able to attain a complete picture of the position IKEA Zagreb finds itself in now, and since its opening in the summer of 2014. In the process, IKEA's organizational structure, supply chain and retail price decisions are shown. This Thesis does this by firstly giving theoretical background of global economy by researching various academic texts and other business articles. Secondly, through a research that was conducted among IKEA Zagreb's managers and team leaders, it is possible to see their own opinions regarding the company's level of agility and market position. Afterwards, after taking into consideration all available facts and conclusions from the research, an overview of possible future scenarios is given and explained.
