Abstract

Još od svojih početaka turizam je bio važna komponenta gospodarstava zemalja diljem svijeta te stekao status visokopozicionirane gospodarske aktivnosti. Osnovne funkcije turizma podijeljene su na društvene i ekonomske te time doprinose humanističkim vrijednostima, ali su isto tako i usmjerene na postizanje određenih gospodarskih učinaka. Razvojem gradova te pojavom željeznice i same industrijske revolucije, javlja se razdoblja masovnog turizma čime su uslijedile mnoge negativne posljedice kao što su devastacija okoliša, nepotrebna izgradnja objekata i slično. Daljnjim razvojem turizma javila se ideja o održivom obliku turizma u kojem se, za razliku od masovnog, okretalo diversifikaciji ponude i usmjeravanju na zadovoljenje pojedinačnih želja i potreba potencijalnih turista. Tako je došlo do razvoja specifičnih oblika turizma koji su, time što su se diversificirali, omogućili stvaranje kvalitetnijih proizvoda i usluga te zadovoljenje potreba užeg segmenta tržišta. Jedan od specifičnih oblika turizma je upravo i kulturni turizam koji postaje sve popularniji i cjenjeniji u svijetu turizma, a folklor se javlja kao značajna komponenta njegova razvoja u Hrvatskoj.

Abstract (english)

Since its beginnings, tourism has been an important component of the economies of countries around the world and has acquired the status of a highly positioned economic activity. The basic functions of tourism are divided into social and economic, thus contributing to humanistic values, but they are also aimed at achieving certain economic effects. With the development of cities and the appearance of railways and the industrial revolution itself, there is a period of mass tourism, which has resulted in many negative consequences such as environmental devastation, unnecessary construction of buildings and the like. The further development of tourism gave rise to the idea of ​​a sustainable form of tourism in which, in contrast to mass tourism, the focus was on diversifying the offer and focusing on the satisfaction of individual wishes and needs of potential tourists. This led to the development of specific forms of tourism which, by diversifying, enabled the creation of better quality products and services and the satisfaction of the needs of a narrower segment of the market. One of the specific forms of tourism is cultural tourism, which is becoming more and more popular and appreciated in the world of tourism, and folklore appears as a significant component of its development in Croatia.
