Abstract

Fondovi rizičnog kapitala vrsta su investicijskih fondova koja prikuplja kapital iskusnih ulagača poput institucionalnih investitora kao što su državni investicijski i europski investicijski fondovi, mirovinski fondovi i osiguravatelji života i imovine, te privatnih ulagača. Prikupljena sredstva fondovi rizičnog kapitala ulažu u brzorastuća poduzeća od kojih se očekuje viši povrat u odnosu na tradicionalna ulaganja zbog neizvjesnosti ishoda ulaganja i naglašenijih rizika ulaganja u poduzeća u ranijoj fazi razvoja. Takav se fond osniva kao partnerstvo, a nakon proteka razdoblja ulaganja povrat se raspoređuje partnerima po unaprijed definiranom sudjelovanju. Područje Središnje i Istočne Europe (CEE regija) bilježi značajan napredak u razvoju fondova rizičnog kapitala u posljednjem desetljeću. Cilj ovoga rada jest utvrditi uspješnost, poslovanje i ulogu fondova rizičnog kapitala na financijskom tržištu područja Središnje i Istočne Europe. Za potrebe empirijskog istraživanja u radu su upotrijebljene znanstvene metode analize i sinteze, komparativna analiza, induktivna metoda te metoda deskripcije na sekundarnim podatcima prikupljenim iz relevantnih izvora i statistika.

Abstract (english)

Venture capital funds are a type of investment fund that attracts capital from experienced investors such as institutional investors, like sovereign wealth funds, European investment funds, pension funds and life and property insurers, as well as private investors. Raised funds are invested into startup companies, which are expected to have a higher return than traditional investments due to the uncertainty of the investment outcome and the more pronounced risks of investing in companies in the earlier stage of development. A venture capital fund is established as a partnership, where after the investment period, the return is distributed to partners according to the predefined participation. The area of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE region) has seen significant development of venture capital funds in the last decade. The aim of the thesis is to determine the performance, operations and role of venture capital funds on the financial market in Central and Eastern Europe. For the purposes of empirical research, scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, comparative analysis, inductive method and method of description on secondary data collected from relevant sources and statistics were used in the thesis.
