Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad obrađuje usporedbu hrvatskog tržišta otvorenih investicijskih fondova s javnom ponudom sa slovenskim i slovačkim tržištem. Fokus je na UCITS fondovima, ključnom obliku zajedničkih ulaganja u Europskoj uniji, koji čine oko 75% kapitala malih ulagača u Uniji. Cilj je analizirati stanje tržišta uspoređujući i dovodeći u vezu sa veličinom gospodarstva, starosti tržišta kapitala te ekonomskom moći populacije koristeći različite pokazatelje. Usporedba se radi sa Slovenijom i Slovačkom kao referentnim tržištima temeljem parametara veličine gospodarstva, ali i starosti tržišta kapitala. Kroz prikupljanje podataka iz sekundarnih izvora, poput stručnih radova, regulativa, registara regulatora financijskih tržišta te izvještaja društava za upravljanje fondovima, rad analizira pitanja o razvijenosti hrvatskog tržišta, posebice s obzirom na broj i strukturu investicijskih fondova, ukazujući na mogući utjecaj na zaradu i zadržavanje kvalitetnog upravljačkog kadra.

Abstract (english)

This master's thesis examines the comparison of the Croatian market of open-end investment funds with public offerings with the Slovenian and Slovakian markets. The focus is on UCITS funds, a key form of collective investment in the European union, constituting approximately 75% of the capital of small investors in the Union. The goal is to analyze the market situation by comparing and relating it to the size of the economy, the age of the capital market, and the economic power of the population using various indicators. The comparison is made with Slovenia and Slovakia as reference markets based on parameters such as the size of the economy and the age of the capital market. By collecting data from secondary sources such as academic papers, regulations, registers of financial market regulators and reports from fund management companies, the thesis analyzes questions about the development of the Croatian market, especially regarding the number and structure of investment funds, highlighting potential impacts on earnings and the retention of quality management personnel.
