Abstract

Krajem prošloga stoljeća, razvio se pojam emocionalne inteligencije koji se pokazao bitnim u poslovnom svijetu. Organizacije su morale pronaći način kako se istaknuti od drugih. Slična tehnologija, procesi, proizvodi i usluge ostavljaju vrlo malo prostora za diferenciranje. Kako bi efikasno iskoristili najvrjedniji organizacijski resurs potrebno je imati set vještina i znanja. Navedeni set vještina karakterizira emocionalnu inteligenciju, stoga je logično pretpostaviti kako trebamo imati vođe koji su u stanju iskoristiti set spomenutih vještina. Područje ovoga rada orijentira se na definiranje pojma emocionalne inteligencije i radne uspješnosti timova. Pretpostavka empirijskog istraživanja bila je da postoji povezanost između dvaju pojmova, što je samo istraživanje potvrdilo.

Abstract (english)

At the end of the last century, the concept of emotional intelligence emerged, proving significant in the business world. Given rapid technological growth and high market competitiveness, organizations needed to stand out. Similar technology, processes, products, and services leave little room for differentiation, so organizations realized human potential is the key resource to utilize efficiently. To leverage this resource, a set of skills and knowledge focused on understanding oneself and others, recognizing emotions, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills is necessary. Emotional intelligence characterizes these skills, suggesting leaders must use them to maximize team productivity and achieve organizational goals. This paper defines emotional intelligence and team performance, aiming to determine if a connection exists. The hypothesis that a connection exists was confirmed through empirical research using a questionnaire to assess leaders' emotional intelligence and team performance. The results indicate a strong connection between the two concepts.
