Abstract

Maloprodajno bankarstvo jedan je od ključnih segmenata poslovanja suvremenih banaka. Ono je u proteklih nekoliko godina doživjelo izrazitu transformaciju. Transformacija je rezultat primjene novih tehnoloških koncepata koji su značajno utjecali na bankovno poslovanje. Osim toga, bankarska industrija bila je izrazito pogođena globalnom financijskom krizom 2008. godine koja je inicirala promjene u bankovnoj regulaciji. Regulatorne promjene pojačale su nadzor cjelokupnog financijskog sustava s ciljem sprječavanja novih kriza i vraćanja narušenog povjerenja u bankovni sustav. Kako bi se ispravile uočene greške formirana su i neka nova regulatorna tijela koja na europskoj razini nadziru i kontroliraju poslovanje kreditnih institucija. Poslovanje banaka također karakterizira i pojava novih modela koji utječu na način distribucije bankovnih usluga. Oni su prvenstveno inicirani novim tehnološkim trendovima poput digitalizacije poslovnih procesa i elektroničkog poslovanja. Shodno tome, u bankarstvu su se pojavili noviteti kao što su call centri i virtualne poslovnice koje su bankovnu uslugu digli na jednu višu razinu. Osim toga, banke su počele surađivati i s ostalim financijskim institucijama plasirajući njihove proizvode putem vlastitih distribucijskih kanala. Takav oblik suradnje pokazao se kao izrazito korisnim stvarajući pozitivne učinke svim uključenim stranama.

Abstract (english)

Retail banking is one of the core business segments of modern banks. It has in recent years undergone a marked transformation. The transformation is the result of applying new technological concepts that have significantly affected the banking business. In addition, the banking industry was particularly hit by the global financial crisis in 2008, which initiated the changes in banking regulation. Regulatory changes have stepped up surveillance of the entire financial system with the aim of preventing new crises and restore impaired confidence in the banking system. In order to correct detected errors new regulatory bodies were established at the European level in order to monitor and control operations of credit institutions. Banking business is also characterized by the emergence of new models that affect the way of distribution of banking services. They are primarily initiated by new technological trends such as the digitization of business processes and e-business. Consequently, the banking industry have appeared novelties such as call centers and virtual offices that raised bank service to a higher level. In addition, banks have begun to cooperate with other financial institutions offering their products through their own distribution channels. This form of cooperation has proved to be extremely useful, creating a positive effects on all involved.
