Abstract

Ovaj diplomski rad donosi kratak opis teorije baze podataka, malo opsežniji opis razvoja
Oracle baza podataka i praktični primjer izrade poslovnih izvještaja u Oracle Application
Express-u.
Prvo se počinje sa teorijom baza podataka s naglaskom na relacijskim bazama. To je potrebno
da bi se usvojila neka općenita znanja potrebna za razumijevanje drugih cjelina ovoga rada.
Kasnije se opisuje razvoj Oracle baze podataka koja je prvenstveno relacijskog tipa, ali ima i
objektnih karakteristika. Ukratko se dotiče i razvoj Oracle kao tvrtke i drugih programskih
rješenja koje su razvili. Po pitanju softvera za upravljanje bazama podataka Oracle je ako ne
najpoznatiji, ona sigurno među 4 vodeće tvrtke u tom području. I na kraju dolazi središnji i
centralni dio ovo diplomskog rada-korištenje Oracle Application Expressa (APEX) u
poslovne svrhe. Ovaj softver dolazi u paketu s bazom podataka Oracle Database 11g Express
Edition, Oracle-ovim besplatnim rješenjem, kojeg koristimo u ovom diplomskog radu.
Najprije se izrađuje baza podataka korištenjem osnovnih SQL naredbi (CREATE TABLE,
INSERT INTO,...), nakon toga se izrađuje aplikacija na temelju podataka iz te baze podataka.
Na kraju se u sklopu te aplikacije izrađuju interaktivni poslovni izvještaji.

Abstract (english)

This thesis brings a brief description of data base theoretical knowledge, more complex
description of development of Oracle Database and practical example of building business
reports in Oracle Application Express.
It beggins with the theoretical knowledge of Databases with the emphasis on relational
databases. This is important to get some general knowledge necessary for understanding the
rest of the thesis. Later one development of the Oracle Database is described, it is mainly
relational database, but it has some object characteristic. In too so much detail development
of Oracle as a company is described and their other products are mentioned. In terms of
software for database management Oracle is if not the best, them among 4 leading companies
in this area. Central and most important part of this thesis, using Oracle Application Express
(APEX) in business purposes, comes in the end. This software comes in the package with
Oracle Database 11g Express Edition, cost free database that is used in this thesis. First the
database is build using some of the most basic SQL commands (CREATE TABLE, INSERT
INTO,...), then the application is build using the data from previously build database. And
finally interactive business report are made in this application.
